8.0. Nice looking copy.

Wow! What a beautiful copy! Super rare in higher grades and a Pence copy too. Grand Slam! Congrats!

Nice looking raw copy. Cant tell if that lower right corner bend is color breaking or not. Also seeing a light stain on the lower back cover. With a good C&P, I think 6.5 / 7.0.

You might squeak out a 2.5 with a (very carful) C&P. Shame about that back cover but still a nice looking copy.

Nice copy! 7.5 with a C&P.

Hi guys thanks for the feedback. Does cgc's press service include cleaning or are there recommended cleaning and pressing services out there? I am hesitant to send my book to a 3rd party service that I only found on the internet.
CGC (formerly CCS) does clean books before pressing. In my experience, they are not as thorough as some of the best independent cleaner/pressers out their but still ok. I think your best bet for this book would be to have CGC do the pressing, especially since it is a lower to mid grade book.

Grades are in! Great books in this first round! Thanks for the fun.

Welcome and congratulations on a nice book! This looks like a 5.0/5.5 to me. The book would definitely benefit from a clean and press. Thanks for posting.

9.2/9.4

Nice pick up! I’m going to say 9.2/9.4 with a clean and press. The two color breaking spine ticks that I can see will keep this copy from grading higher. Congrats!

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that this book could even grade in the 7.0’s with a really good clean and press. There are very few color breaking issues that I can see. You would need to get a pro to spend a lot of time with this book (not a ccs quick press candidate) but the book looks like it could really clean up nicely.

So sorry if I sound stupid I’m not that clued up on grading, so if I left the tape and cover box on the comic it would just be a 1.0 blue label
Left as is, the book would almost certainly return a purple (restored) grade probably in the 1.5 range because the restoration is so poor (non matching pieces added). If you remove the non matching pieces and glue, you could achieve a blue label grade around 1.5/1.8 (again because of the missing pieces) as long as the cover is still attached. Of course this is just my opinion.

So if I bought this and removed the corner box and back of comic that was stuck on it, would it just be a 1.0. My only reason I would like to grade it my goal is what ever grade I want my key ASM on my wall displayed and to keep it in good condition. But also I don’t want 0.5 grade comics in my collection
In theory, if you removed the “restoration”, you could end up with a book in the 1.5/1.8 range. But why bother? You would need to have the restoration professionally removed to get all the glue off (assuming it even can be removed). The book’s condition wouldn’t warrant the expense IMHO.

Agree with @marvelmaniac that we need pics of the staples and centerfold to get a better idea. That aside, it looks like a beautiful copy. Another hard one to find in high grade.

7.5/8.0 with a C&P.

Is that an blue ink transfer above Bagley's signature on the cover (under Carnage's leg)? I'm also going to go with 9.2, possibly 9.4. But who knows! You may land higher. There are a lot of high grade copies of this book out there so I think CGC tends to be pretty picky. Thanks for posting.

in Hey buddy, can you spare a grade?

Wow! That is a super nice copy! I'm going to guess 8.0 / 8.5 on account of the small chip out of the right edge of the cover. One of the best preserved raw SA books I've seen in a long time. Congrats!
