Heavy-ish Metal

Very sorry if this isn't the right area to ask this in. I've started collecting Heavy Metal Magazine this year and have picked up a few lots. I've noticed a tendency for the covers to have some ink rubbing or scuffing of some kind and am curious as to how I could (carefully) correct these at home. I am not planning to submit anything in particular for grading just yet. These first two show colored scuffs (1st in the logo, 2nd on the character). I'm assuming these are from issues being stacked on top? This third one shows white scuffing on the logo. I'm concerned this is from ink being removed and can't be fixed, but correct me if I'm wrong! Thank you!

Ahh thank you! I'll assume the pressing took place, then. Would be really nice for them to note that it *happened*, but glad to know I wasn't missing something. Only sent in one book for Miller to sign. Looking forward to getting my first CGC submission back! Will post pics when I get it.

I haven't received any emails confirming that my book is getting pressed, or returning from being pressed. I've only received a couple automated emails about my book being received for the signing. I also don't see CCS mentioned anywhere in my submissions page. Status says "Scheduled for Grading". This was my first submission ever so I'm not sure what I should be expecting, but I'm worried they've missed the pressing? Or just haven't noted it anywhere? Any advice or insight is appreciated

On the other hand, I think trading 0.2 points off a grade in exchange for a (hopefully) permanent artifact of a timeless cast of actors that won't be around forever is well worth it! I know in an ideal world this book (and all things) would be physically perfect and stay that way, but you've imbued it with an intangible value that, as long as it stays protected, will never fade.

Hi everyone! Very new to comics and grading. I've started on a lifelong dream of collecting the entire Heavy Metal magazine run, as well as other pulp and anthology series from the 70s and 80s. Looking forward to connecting with you all, learning more about comics, and hopefully being able to find some of my most sought after items through the WTB forum!

Out of curiosity, why is Media Mail not acceptable? I've been buying lots of stuff on eBay recently and a lot of them come in Media Mail... both single issues and lots... doesn't bother me at all and they all had tracking & insurance added. Sure it takes a bit longer but if the buyer doesn't mind the extra time then it seems like a great option.
