  1. According to page 273 of this sweet reference tool that skypinkblu shared, it says only 60, including covers ?? http://twomorrows.com/alterego/media/Golden%20Age%20Index.pdf So it sounds like GCB says 68, Howard Keltner's Index says 60, and you have a copy with 64. Maybe Gator knows the answer.
  2. Jake is a top notch seller. Excellent communication, fast shipping, and bullet proof packaging. Thanks, bro!
  3. Recall that a couple of 8.0 copies of OAAW #81 recently sold in the $6,600 to $7,000 range. Personally, I don't think that this 7.5 sale of OAAW #83 would impact the value of those 8.0 copies much, if at all. I think that this sale just provides further support to the fact that OAAW #83 is THE highest valued and most sought after Sgt Rock book out there. At least that's my opinion.
  4. Indeed. It went from $3,300 to $9,600 in the last 10 seconds of bidding. 4 bids over $9K in the last 10 seconds...
  5. I purchased a few books from Andy's recent sales thread (which was my favorite sales thread ever, between the incredible selection of war books, and the exciting and generous promotions, etc.) To repeat what Jeffro stated, since I couldn't say it any better myself; "Andy is one of the best sellers on the boards. Great pricing, accurate grading and rock solid packaging. He's also one of the most generous people I've ever dealt with. Buy from him with confidence." Thanks, Andy!
  6. Dear Gator, What is "packback"? (I seem to recall seeing this in reference to some of the Mhedy threads, but missed the original reference and am too slow to pick it up based on the 2nd hand references).
  7. I always like getting raw books from Dre because he packages so well that not only do the books arrive in great condition but the bags & backboards do too, saving me the hassle of rebagging & boarding them. Thanks again!
  8. I received a couple of slabs from Frank today. He packaged them bombproof and shipped them really fast. Thanks, Frank
  9. I purchased one of Bob's VCC books and he shipped it fast and secure. Thanks!
  10. Great packaging and fast shipping. I hope to do business with him again! Thanks!
  11. Fast shipping on some sweet supplies at a great price. Thanks guys!
  12. That is not an either/or question. a "neither" ?
  13. I received my books fast and they packaged impeccably. Thanks, Dre!
  14. I got my picture taken with Andre and Dusty Rhodes right here in Panama City Florida in the early 80's when they were tag team partners... in Andre's prime, he was an awesome athlete... in the 70's and 80's, there were still "bigger" men, like Haystacks Calhoun and stronger men like Bruno S...into the 80's and 90's the likes of Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger were just incredible specimens physically, that they might have taken Andre in a real match... I think andre only lost 2 matches in the early days...Canek pinned him and Antonio Inoki got him by submission and in the End, I think Hulk H got him too Dear Gator, Any chance you could scan and post this picture? I'd like to see a couple of legends side by side, and Dusty Rhodes too
  15. Dear Gator, In a real wrestling match with no acting, could anyone have beaten Andre the Giant in his prime? If so, who?
  16. Dear Gator, What is your favorite comic book cover for each of Action, Superman, Detective, and Batman, as well as your favorite overall comic book cover?
  17. Of the original $30 forked over by the brothers, it is accounted for as follows after all is said and done: clerk/hotel retains $25 brothers retain $3 clerk retains $2 Add it all up, and you get the $30 that was originally forked over by the brothers Looking at it another way, at the end of the day, the brothers should have paid $25 in total, but because of the bell boy's actions, they ended up paying $27 $28 $27 in total. fixed that for you (thumbs u Nope, fixed that back for you In an attempt to better explain the answer to nearmint's riddle: The question of "where is the other dollar" is not a valid question since it's not accounting for apples to apples; Net Expenses to the brothers = ($10 - $1) x 3 = $27 Net Income to the hotel = $30 - $5 = $25 Net Income to the bellboy = $2 --> Net Expenses = Net Income The question is taking an expense item from one party (the $27 above) adding to it an income item from another party (the $2 above) and asking why it doesn't equal the initial outlay by the brothers (i.e. $30)...

  19. Congratulations to both of you! Actually it will be a 3 way deal which was great and really shows how great this board is. I will be getting Andre's undercopy and will post as soon as I get it :-) I have now managed a run of 28-30, but think like many others I will just not be able to get that 27. Time will tell. Thanks guys for making this deal work out and thanks also to Gator. James G Congrats!
