  1. yeah but you are kind of smart I have a particular bias to Batman, but I would probably go for an Action 1 ahead of a Detective 27 myself. A lot of people keep saying that, I certainly have my reasons for agreeing. I'm just curious, "why" all of you would pick Action #1? Because it is the most important comic book ever published. +1
  2. It was a pleasure to buy some books from g-man. From the initial communications to the fast secure shipping, it couldn't have gone any smoother. Thanks, bud!
  3. 'Tis true, except with rare explainable exceptions to the norm that don't apply in this case... for example, I think what the link that I've attached below would suggest is that if the PQ isn't the best, CGC might not just automatically set the overall grade of the book equal to the grade of the highest graded cover... another example where the overall grade of the book assigned by CGC might be lower than the highest graded cover is if the interior pages are white / supple enough, but they have other defects that would cause the overall grade of the book to drop below that of the highest graded cover... of course neither of these examples would appear to apply in this case... http://comics.ha.com/c/item.zx?saleNo=812&lotIdNo=3002
  4. I just got a book from Nate and it was well packaged and he shipped that bad boy to me really fast too. Thanks bro!
  5. If tape was used to improve the grade, is it really unrestored? there in lies the issue...can tape really improve a grade CGC says yes. Yup, but think most people would agree this practice should stop. See my proposed solution and poll in the "The BIGGEST problems in the hobby right now" thread in Comics General, on page 11 of that thread (under default posts per page settings). Here's a link to that thread: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=5941522&fpart=11 If anyone has a better idea for a way that CGC could close this silly loop hole (that allows for higher grades by adding tape), in a fair way, given the precedent that they have set on this issue, I'd love to hear what you have to say in that thread, or here. I'm personally getting tired of seeing more and more books with detached covers get grade bumps after the cover is reattached with tape.
  6. Wow - that's the last thing I expected to see when I went to check out the latest posts in this thread. RIP Joe Kubert. You will be missed.
  7. I just had an flawless transaction with the legendary Flee. Thanks bro!
  8. That's a nice book. +1 Such a nice book deserves a better scan!
  9. He's referring to the boardie Ze-Man who works for/with Matt Nelson of Classics Incorporated. Check out the last few pages of the thread "The official progress on my GL 1 restoration by Kenny thread" in the resto forum for some more incredible resto pictures of work done by Kenny/Matt on a GL #1.
  10. From what I recall, I thought this was a pretty funny thread... If you don't want to read it all, be sure to check out the 1st post and the 12th post (Bugaboo's response to the original post)... http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Board=4&Number=144881&Searchpage=63&Main=7577&Words=cgc+game&topic=0&Search=true#Post144881
  11. Highly recommended seller. Well packaged and shipped really fast. Thanks, Dan!
  12. Received some sweet Turtles sketches in the mail from Dre. Thanks, pal!
  13. Thank you for your careful review and assessment as to the point of derailment of this thread, Mr.TupennyConan. For discussion: In the probation list, would it make sense to add the offended party(s) next to each probation lister, in order to keep track of each person(s) that needs to be righted before a given boardie is removed from the probation list? Just a thought I had that I wanted to throw out there for discussion...
  14. Again, I'll answer for my buddy Gator since he is busy. Artist and story information aren't his strong suit either Interesting. Who is the board guru(s) for artist and story information?
