  1. 🙄, 3 accounts in 1 day, your busy... thanks for reminding me why I don’t post on these boards ✌️
  2. Awesome, I love the modern foreign books too.. just curious what did you submit? So many amazing variant covers that were used overseas. I had planned to submit a batch of modern foreigns but I may wait a bit and send some other older books in 1st before the prices go up
  3. Well someone posted about something I have direct knowledge of so I was just trying to help; people like you are the reason I don’t post in these boards often...and don’t worry I’m not selling anything there’s to much future potential; everything I own I’m holding... but since you brought up sales; check out how much some of these worthless reprints are selling for lately!!
  4. Difference is some are old label and some are new style.. the second book was just delivered to my buddy last week from CGC so that is how the labels are being done now... the other one has been on eBay for well over a year I believe so that’s the old style label... Good to know, I won’t feed the troll anymore haha
  5. So what is the problem exactly? And who is being disingenuous about it? You seem to have a big opinion about it so please explain it?
  6. Haha seems like the quite the opposite actually.. seemed like a fairly intelligent dialogue going on amongst adults until you showed up.. foreign collecting is picking up a lot of steam in the last year.. hate on it all you want but plenty of people love it..
  7. No worries, it’s an interesting discussion to have and maybe one day we will hear from CGC why they decided to do it this way
  8. The use of the word “reprint” on the old foreign labels was what most people hated the most. Technically they aren’t considered reprints since it is that countries 1st exposure to the material. That is why they use the term carried over from book publishing which is “Edition” I wouldn’t say they have pandered to a niche market since nobody at cgc asked for any input from the foreign collecting community. This was a decision made solely by CGC. Some of the biggest foreign collectors in the world have offered to assist CGC in improving the labels and have not gotten any response. Wether loved or hated this appears to be the way CGC is moving forward.. but don’t shoot the messenger 😃
  9. From my understanding there was supposed to be some formal announcement about it by now.. but we haven’t heard anything yet The most active community is on Facebook, Foreign comic collectors magazine (official). FCC has had the most discussion about the labels. Also a lot of chatter on Instagram and it has been discussed on a couple YouTube podcast shows.
  10. That’s old style label since it’s from 2018.. news labels started just recently in mid 2020
  11. From my conversation with CGC staff they will label based on cover. If it is an original cover only used in a foreign country then it will get the “old style” foreign label with foreign title and numbering prominent. The whole Labeling issue has the foreign comic community split... some who see it as a cheaper way to own grail books are ecstatic. Others who like the originality of the foreign publications and come from a more academic approach hate it.. I appreciate that cgc is at least trying to do something with the foreign labels and providing some notations now but there’s still a ways to go
  12. Issues I had where that the Indonesian batman information is way off... I honestly don’t think they had any idea on how to approach these extremely rare comics.. most people don't have a clue that golden age Batman covers were redrawn and used in Indonesia. also the Swedish batman 181 does contain the 1st app of Poison ivy but they didn’t put that on the label. Seems UK books keep their original titles
  13. I think CGC had to decide which direction they were going to go with foreign comics and decided on a “cover approach” rather than the “guts approach”. I’m heavily involved with foreign comic collectors and can say for a fact that some are outraged by the new labels and others love them. I think CGC still has a ways to go but they are at least trying to do SOMETHING with foreign Editions. I think by using the cover approach they are making it much easier to search the census for foreign books since all you have to do is type “Spiderman 300” and you see all of the different countries publishers in one place. Is the information 100% accurate, no.. but it’s a start. I’ll include pictures of my slabbed foreigns so you can see more new labels
  14. Where you the one I talked to on instagram?! I remember an interested party messaging me about it; I asked $50 via PM and someone declining.. That was before I knew what I had and just though it was a pretty cover. I would for sure be kicking myself if I would have sold it...
  15. haha checks in the mail Im honestly stunned that is sold for as much as it did but im glad its going to someone that will truely cherish it. I was thinking it would hit maybe $500ish but the bidding war at the end really made it go ballistic. I have a very knowledgable comic source in Greece that says he has been looking for another copy and has had no luck. He believes a lot of these old magazines where used as kindling and burned or destroyed during a civil war. After this auctions results i have a feeling every greek collector will be hunting for more.
  16. Hey guys I’m the seller of the Greek CL25; just a wanted to say thanks for the research you guy did in this thread. When I bought the book I had no idea it had any significance; I just liked the cover. Just pure dumb luck haha.. I really love this book but I just payed big money for my own personal grail which is a Mexican x-men 1 from 1966 (I’ll include picture) so I figured it’s time to pass this book on to someone who will cherish it. If anyone’s bidding on it good luck; I have zero clue what its value would be but there’s already a couple bids so I’m happy.
  17. My collection is almost entirely foreign comics, I also sell quite a few foreign comics on ebay. That is considered 1st print for Germany and isn't technically a "reprint" Foreign collecting is gaining rapidly in popularity and that is considered a coveted book although not especially rare. I have sold a couple around $100-150 depending on condition and if it has the marvel value stamp inside. Yours looks nice so I would list at $200 and take offers. All of the foreign keys are drying up pretty quick and the foreign sellers are now demanding more money than they were a couple years ago.
  18. Hello, I just saw the Greek Baker cover pop up on my instagram feed via CBSI. I am actually the owner of it; i guess someone pulled it from my instagram which is all foreign comic related "interglobalcomics" I am not at all versed in golden age books and i guess i just got lucky buying a cover that visually appealed to me. If anyone needs any info from the book let me know. Its obviously in Greek so translating it is a bit of a pain but i can try.
