  1. Hey guys...its been noted earlier Henchgirl has been picking up speed recently either print run or the TV whispers.

Just wanted to see whether anyone knew for sure what issue would be recognised as a true 1st as there seems to be three.

    Henchgirl 1 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Henchgirl-1-First-Published-By-Kristen-Gudsnuk-First-Appearance-/152102083996?hash=item2369fd9d9c:g:SrkAAOSwDV1XRHDQ

Henchgirl 1 Scout Copy 2500 ish copies

    Henchgirl 1 Ashcan Edition

I was waiting for someone to figure it out. I just didn't want to be the one to give the bad news.

Little secret. Henchgirl #1 was produced in 2013. The comic above is the true 1st appearance. The comic was produced in black & white. Then it was picked up by Scout Comics.

    Once again, do your research.

Oh yeah, most of you want evidence.

    - Look closely and you will see #1 thru 5.

  3. IMO

Big Barda is a better character & back story.

    1. Have her in JL1 getting the Mother Boxes.

    2. Wonder Woman 2 movie (Big Barda & Female Furies vs Wonder Woman & Amazonians)

    3. New Gods movie (Origin of New Gods, Big Barda, Darkseid, Steppenwolf, Mister Miracle etc...). Big Barda turning good, helping out Justice League against Darkseid and leaving for earth with Mister Miracle.

    4. Darkseid hiring Lobo (movie) to hunt them down for betrayal.

This is how I would like it to go.

  4. Possible Details On the Villain We'll See In The JUSTICE LEAGUE Movie - And It's Not Who You're Thinking

It really seemed a forgone conclusion that Darkseid would be the universal threat that would unite the Justice League for their first big screen outing, but according to Birth.Movies.Death that won't be the case - at least, not in part 1.

Remember that big alien dude Lex Luthor was seen conversing with in the deleted scene from Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice? Many fans assumed that must have been Steppenwolf (Darkseid's uncle) because of the headgear, and it seems they might have been bang on the money.

BMD reckons Steppenwolf, not Darkseid, is going to be the big bad of the first Justice League movie, quite possibly paving the way for his even more ruthless nephew to join the fray in the sequel.

    steppenwolf-one-of-darkseids-generals-as-seen-in-the-new-52-reboot.jpeg

If this rumor is true why in the world would they cut that scene in the BvS movie with Steppenwolf.

Why Steppenwolf? Big Barda would have been a better fit and an easy transition to another Wonder Woman movie or even New Gods.

  5. Avengers Confirmed For Tom Holland Spider-Man Movie

    :o

Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige confirmed the news to EW.com.

"He is in the universe now, and the fun of the universe is that characters go back and forth,” Feige said.

It's unknown which Marvel characters will be appearing in the standalone Spider-Man movie, but Joe Russo offered a bit of a tease, with the article noting it's probably a joke.

“Let’s just say … Great Lakes Avengers,” said Joe Russo.

    Leather Boy - (Gene Lorrene)

    Gravity - (Greg Willis)

    Hawkeye- (Clinton Barton)

    Mockingbird- (Barbara Morse)

    Deadpool (Wade Wilson)

    Tippy Toe

    Grasshopper - (Doug Taggert), (deceased)

    hm

You forgot the most important member of the GLA. Squirrel Girl lol

  6. I hope that it's not Kraven - an old man in leopard skin underwear chasing a teenage boy around town.

...I should have clarified that...Definitely NO leopard prints...A little revision/updating could go a long way...Perhaps he's a bounty hunter, he's hired by a more sinister villain in the background?

I just would rather Kraven than Vulture...An old man in a chicken suit chasing a teenage boy not much better!

If Kraven can look like this I would be happy.

  7. Hello gents , these are some pretty cool books, that I honestly have never heard of.

Checked out past and recent sales and we're around $200 for both the X-Men legacy, and the Deadpool book. Not chump change, but not expensive enough yet.

To crack the Dirty Dozen, figure the book is going to have to sell for at least $1500 on at least a couple of occasions in a 9.8 to make it in. (thumbs u

    -J.

I knew these books would never be on the top 10 list. I just had information I wanted share and felt this was the perfect thread to do so. I have a lot more info on other comics that I'll share when the time is right.

  8. Here is some research I was doing over a year ago. If anyone wants to continue, please do so.

From 2008 to 2010 Marvel produced partial sketch variants for cons. For 2008 & 2009, I have know idea why but for 2010 it could have been to promote Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited.

All partial sketch variants have no UPC code on the front and back cover

Note: If there is a UPC Code on the front or back cover then it is not the Limited Edition Partial Sketch Variant that Marvel distributed at cons but a retailer incentive.

    Print Run: Unknown ?

Partial sketch variants had the main character or team in colour and the background in B&W or sketch.

These are the ones I know so far. There could be more.

    Uncanny X-Men #510

    New Mutants #1

    Black Panther #1

    Avengers Children's Crusade #1

    Black Widow #1

    New Avengers #54

    Shield #1

    Avengers Initiative #14

One of the hardest to find is X-Men Legacy 211

miss read so was wrong on my deleted sentence

Thanks for the info. X-Men Legacy #211 is another one to add to the list.

Just checked. It was given out at the Phoenix Comicon 2008. No UPC code on the front or back cover so I know it is not a retailer incentive.

  10. Hot off the heels of the announcement a few days ago, Marvel has unveiled the logo for their latest TV series, starring young heroes Cloak and Dagger.

Freeform (which, for those of you who don't know, is really just ABC family rebranded under a different name to target adolescent audiences) has unveiled the logo for its upcoming series based on fan-favourite teenage heroes Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson.

    cloak-dagger-logo.jpg

Wow - that didn't take long.

    Looks good. :applause:

  11. what is the significance of these gold digger books ?

Cult fav artist, scarcity and/or 1st app.'s are my guesses.

But I'd love to hear a concrete answer.

The early Antartic Press books have the print run for the issue in the indica. Usually between 1000 to 2000 were produced. Inaddtion, most of the early Antartic Press comics were considered adult and not many LCS ordered copies.

There are lots of rare little indies worth squat though, there's got to be some demand to the equation. I guess there are a few neckbeards trying to complete their runs then (shrug)

As mentioned earlier, Fred Perry, Ben Dunn & Steven Gallacci (Gold Digger, Furrlough, Albedo, Ninja High School, Warrior Nun Areala) have a cult following.

  13. Why do people decide to buy a book the day after a movie/tv show gets announced? Paying double or more because you missed the bus? Will never understand the sheep mentality...

because, as people noted, there may be more doublings and triplings of the price down the road

I sold most of my x-factor 6ses after the announcment and I got 2X what I would have gotten 6 months earlier, true. but i am pretty sure the guy who bought them from me can get 2-3X what he paid for them now.

Exactly. San Diego Comic Con is soon and any formal announcement or preview by Marvel would almost double or triple the book. A very good strategic move in my opinion.

  14. Why do people decide to buy a book the day after a movie/tv show gets announced? Paying double or more because you missed the bus? Will never understand the sheep mentality...

Good question but I think most people do not look back and say "wow - could have bought it for half yesterday". They didn't care about the book yesterday so the going price is what is necessary to buy the book they want and they pay it. Now if you are a flipper (speculator) and paying the double price then you better be sure that show will be good.

Rocket Raccoon (Hulk 271) is the best example of book that was $5 to $20 book on ebay and everyone bought all the copies when Guardians of the Galaxy movie was announced. Many thought they were nuts. We now know how that turned out.

  15. Someone's about to get a good deal on a winter soldier #1...

    -J.

    Spine...tick...tick...tick. Listed as a F+

    It was pretty beat up...

Ended up selling for $225.... :o

    -J.

That is a lot for a mid-grade modern variant that isn't "that" rare...

hm Hard to say. Were there likely a ton of stores ordering 50+ copies of the regular cover to get one of these back in 2012? Probably not.

Have some sellers sold off some copies when the price spiked? Definitely. That's par for the course.

From what I'm seeing though, when these dry up, they'll dry up. Even now there's only a couple left on eBay. And with that black front cover a 9.8 on any copy will be tough.

    -J.

I have had 3 copies of Winter Soldier 1 none above fn+. I sold 2 copies earlier this month. This will be a tough book in 9.8

  16. Buyer beware on green lantern 20.

Supposed to be a 1st appearance or so i am told...care to enlighten a non lantern fan on what going on with this one?

It is the first appearance of Jessica Cruz, technically. Shown below is her hand. That is the entirety of her appearance in GL 20.

    gl20.jpg

Her next appearance is in Justice League #30. This is the entirety of that appearance, save for some dialogue on a previous page in which she isn't shown:

    jl30.jpg

This is her next appearance in Justice League #31, including her first cover appearance, her origin, her transformation and her reveal:

    jl31a.jpg

    jl31b.jpg

    jl31c.jpg

So before people start blindly chasing GL 20, use the info above to make your own decision. [/quote?]

So CGC gets it right. Anything that needs to change?

Green Lantern 20 - 1st App. of Jessica Cruz (cameo)

Justice League 30 - 1st Full App. of Jessica Cruz

Justice League 31 - Origin & 1st App.of Jessica Cruz as Green Lantern.

    Thanks Darkstar. Great work.
