  1. 2. Considering demand. Walking dead is huge. However, PP has the potential to be even bigger because it is based on a subject matter that appeals to a broader audience. If the show is quality, and the comic story can draw people in, things will explode. If not then, speculators will be looking to dump those stocks.

Not looking to argue, but want to discuss this point. You state "PP has the potential to be even bigger because it is based on a subject matter that appeals to a broader audience." I assume you are talking about it being based on Peter Pan?

This isn't necessarily aimed only at Mike's Rack, so please anyone chime in: Is Peter Pan really a broader audience than the zombie genre?

its up there PP has huge international potential. if done right this will be huge !

    No next question

PP has the potential to be even bigger than Walking Dead. What have you been smokin'? You can't possible think that a subject matter on WW2 & Nazi's is going to appeal to a larger audience.

  2. Is this book worth speculating on...again???

So this comic, its retailer variant and rare 2nd print were discussed a while back. Even Larry recommended it in his weekly report after some other online articles mentioned it first. This was due to the possibility that Pepper Pott's Rescue/Iron Maiden armor would appear in Iron Man 3. Since then no one seems to care but with the recent rumor that the J.A.R.V.I.S. ai will become Ultron in Avengers 2, shouldn't this book explode?

If anyone has cared to look, Avengers 55 is selling for huge money overnight on Ebay ( first appearance Ultron ) But if that Ultron is not going to be utilized in the film I would expect the first appearance of the J.A.R.V.I.S. intelligence to significantly climb in value. This first appearance is also in a regular Marvel Universe comic not a Marvel Films adaptation. What do you all think?

    No

  3. That's as clear as mud, isn't it?

X-Force v1 had really high print counts.

I was able to find a NM+ bagged #1 in the $0.50 bin back in May 2013.

I too have been questioning why the prices haven't increased much considering the latest news.

Especially since X-Force is early Cable and early Deadpool.

You still can. Doesn't X-Force #1 have the 2nd highest print run ever?

Yes. X-Force #1 has the 2nd highest print run just behind X-Men #1.

  4. Is there some rumor I have not heard about that doomsday is going to appear in MOS #2? The raw books are sellng fairly well in high grade right now it looks like as well. I'm going to go into my box of them in a few minutes and see if I have any 9.8 candidates.

IMO WB has only 3 choices for MOS 2. It has to be either Brainac, Doomsday or Metallo for MOS 2 to be successful. If WB does Lex again they will loose the audience.

  5. 2nd Print (1992) JCPenney Reprint http://stlcomics.com/gallery/jcpenney_stridex/

    1st Print (1990)

I saw one 2 weeks ago and thought nothing of it. Didn't know it's a JC Penney reprint. hm

But does this make it a Marvel second print? What I mean is a book that Marvel actually went back to press on, not a book that some other company did a printing of (i.e. Marvel Legends books or sendaways like this Stridex book). May seem like splitting hairs but it makes a difference to me.

When I saw it 2 weeks ago I opened up the book and indica says "2nd Print"

  6. This one is probably already in the 119 pages of posts, but this one is mine and I just got it today. (thumbs u

I bought that comic when it came out. That was a prism foil cover thing to it? Right? That one a different printing?

1st print. Newsstand Edition. Most newsstand editions from the 1990's did not have the special gimmick covers (ie. Foil, hologram, prism, etc..).

  7. I know we discussed Agent Poulson and SHIELD over and over again, but now that the other hundred of thousands of comic book readers know SHIELD got picked up is Battle Scars worth it? I see it at cover price. Never lower. Or whatever that other book we talked about was?

Will someone just come forward and admit they have bought like 40 copies of this book. That way we can end this stupid argument. Its fairly obvious some are invested in this book heavily apparently. Every 5 to 10 pages this books gets brought up. If it aint selling it aint selling.

    :golfclap:

  8. None of these books rising in price should be a surprise. Marvel/Disney has already said many years ago what movies they are going to do for the next 10 years. That is not including the TV shows.

For example: Dr. Strange was just confirmed but Marvel/Disney has been saying for years now that it will be a movie.

The next 5 years is going to be huge if you are a bronze age collector especially if you collect marvel.

As for DC/WB that is a different story.
