    Definitely agree with the broader point, and maybe even more importantly, all the other modern auctions places like Whatnot driving modern grading. That's probably where CGC makes most of its money because it's a steady stream of income on new books. 

    But that was actually me interviewing Matt and I can guarantee I have no connection to Heritage 😁. I've actually never even won a book on there, I don't own a single comic, and I much prefer hunting pulps and not paying crazy prices. The folks at the Summit asked if I would do the interview so I checked with a few fellow pulpsters on what questions they'd want answered. I had the brittle page question queued up and totally forgot ....my bad... I'm super curious about that one too. And I did later ask about Pedigrees and the answer was essentially "Strasser and Yakima, and any other comic pedigrees that had pulps". Strassers have markings which make that easier, Yakimas obviously don't and have the certificate from Dave and whiter pages, but I think there might be a list so the same book doesn't pop up as Yakima twice, not sure.

    Hopefully I covered most of the bases in the interview, and if not then...luckily I have a day job to go back to! 😂. I'm also cool with grading taking another 6 months so I can keep scooping up more pulps

    And now a recent pickup because I can't post without sharing a pulp!

    But seriously.....the "10x guide" is a really useful rule of thumb that I use all the time, so @Bookery your guide continues to be an incredible resource for anyone who has 2nd grade math skills! You sure you don't want to republish a 2023 version and just add a bunch of 0s to every price..... :)

    If you go over to the "welcome CGC to Pulps" thread, we've had a few "will they/won't they" threads but CGC has always held firm that it's happening. Now when it will actually happen..... That's not a bet I'd make :grin:.

    I always assumed the 1924 WT would be the toughest gap to fill, but I've seen at least 4 for sale in the past year alone. The Canadian WT I've only ever seen three prior sales...and only know where two of them are 👀. It's been a blast though, on to a new challenge! Thanks @OtherEric for sending me on this quest last year :highfive:

    I know a few folks are one or two away since the other three are reasonably common by comparison. Would love to see another complete set if anyone has one and doesn't mind sharing!

    Bravo, this is very very close to the list I had in my mind! Could make a case for first Zorro (All Story, August 9 1919, Curse of Capistrano) or Creeping Death (Shadow, January 15 1933). Thrill Book October 1919 is also a potential entrant since Shadow #1 lifted the cover. But as a sci fi fan this one made me smile.

    I also like this list because I've checked half of it off 😁

    Amazing find and such a cool piece of history! This is the 5th printing of the First Edition, which is still quite a great book to have especially with the original dust jacket. Definitely worth quite a bit more than you paid :)

    Here's a great resource showing how to identify the first 9 printings. http://www.jacurutu.com/viewtopic.php?p=100746#p100746. Easiest way to note yours is the string of numbers "567890" with the first number indicating 5th. Hope that helps!

    I thought the same thing - I assumed a number of lots would go unsold but....I was wrong!

    Could also be the lack of the normal eBay shill bidding that drives up low priced lots 6 days before they end. In that sense it was refreshing and I'm happy for the buyer and seller (wasn't me)!

    Confirming your estimates were pretty spot on - looks like ~180k print run for All Story in 1912 (source: https://www.pulpmags.org/contexts/essays/pulps-and-big-slicks.html) and most numbers I've seen for Action 1 are 200k so virtually the same. Was using this data for something else and figured I'd share!

    They paper quality on these Pulps is atrocious, so it's always a surprise to me that any survived!

    Had a similar experience late last year. Pretty expensive book listed as Fine....and the entire back cover was taped on and not disclosed. It's a huge collection so I'm sure things will be missed (and they still provide more pictures than ComicConnect!), but @Surfing Alien nailed it by calling this auction a "minefield". I've been zooming in on every spine picture looking for cover separation ever since and it's definitely saved me a lot of heartburn. 

    For what it's worth, I believe it's a relative selling off a big family collection so it's not the same seller with 7000+ sales and 100% feedback. Watching the books pop up has been :popcorn: though
