  1. I recently purchased a slabbed book from eBay which was graded 9.8 by C.G.C. back in 2008. The label for this issue is outdated and says that there is a "1st Cameo appearance" of a character but it has since been established as his "1st Full appearance", so my question is- does C.G.C.'s Reholder service also update the comics label with the newer, corrected, information? Or would I have to submit it using a different service? Thank you in advance for your time.

  2. That is correct Rob. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they press the comic first. As those have always been the first charges to appear after my submissions. (It's a little odd that they have books pressed before a signing, because during the signing it gets picked up, written on, moved around, etc. lol) And then they give it to CGC for the signings. After they are done signing it, they send it off to be graded and slabbed. Hope this helps!

*I may be wrong they press first, I've actually never asked anyone before. But as I mentioned, it has always been the first charged payment for their services.

Yes, our graders check the book for the proper variant so even if happen to list the wrong one on your order form, we will adjust it and put the correct one on the label.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.  Thanks!

    Thank you again!

    Good morning,

Thanks for your message.  Our graders would need to see the book before they can determine which variant it is.  If you are unsure, I would just note what you think it is and our graders will double check everything and list the correct variant on the label.  Thanks!

Hey Jennifer, thanks for the response!

Just to be clear, because I plan on submitting pretty soon, I should choose the closest variant I think it matches on the submission form page online, then leave a note in with the comics saying I was unsure exactly which to pick? But no matter what, the graders and others will know the proper labels? Sorry to ask so many questions, I like to be specific when sending in submissions.

    Thanks again!

Hey Chicago Joe Im sending in some Last Ronins as well for Eastman signature. How are you packaging it as far as bag and board?

Hey Yos, the best way to board and bag your Ronin's are using a Golden Age bag, and cutting 3/4" off a magazine board. The fit like a perfectly shaped glove. A tad long, but the bag is long enough to still be able to tape them shut! Let me know what you think!!

  6. So, I was able to snag a copy of The Last Ronin #1 2nd Print 1:75 "Thank You' Exclusive (the foil and colors are amazing and I say better than most of the other Variants by any other artists), and I also have a copy of the 1:10 Eastman cover and I am wanting to submit for a couple of the Legends John Hancock's, but I have NO IDEA which Variant to pick for either of these copies lol. I see a Retailer Incentive A & B, but no idea if those are correct. No option for 2nd Prints either. Please help! lol Is it as simple as just choosing one of them, any of them, and then sending them in in hopes you guys don't get frustrated sorting them out and making sure they get the correct labels? :) Thanks in advance for any information!

*Update: Just moments after, I believe I have finally learned that the "Retailer Incentive A" is in fact the Eastman 1:10 Cover. But still need help with the 1:75 Thank You Variant!

That’s fine I was just offering an opinion since one of your posts mentioned it being potentially worth a good amount. That implied potential sale to me that’s all

As for rarity, you said there one more graded. Raw collectors will have to check their runs and chime in but it’s by no means common.

Understood, and it wasn't you I was aiming at lol

Coming down to being a good amount was more towards me thinking, should I definitely send in to try and get the blue label, should I take a bigger insurance policy for my personal collection lol and could this be in high demand for everything it is. Although I am not looking to part with it right now....everything has a price lol

And yeah, there is only one other Qualified copy of SW 107 at a 7.0, and I found out this morning it was for NAME WRITTEN ON COVER IN MARKER.

So as mentioned before, if there are more like this than no one is sending them in. So I think I could safely assume that this is for sure a one of a kind, as of right now. *Whether that makes this book $5k or $5, it's truly unique*

  8. Apologies to anyone other than that Ready Fire kid who I have ignored. I didn't realize that in my original post it would have given everyone the idea that I was only here asking about this because I thought I was going to get rich off this book LOL :D I have re-read it many times and had I not been the one to post this, I wouldn't have read this thinking anything other than the person was looking for info and that they sounded excited that they came across this book, which for the record had been sitting in a box along with 2k other comics for 15+ years untouched, and that it turned out to be a very rare find. Whether the person who posted it has thoughts that they could make some money or not, I didn't get the impression they were here solely to find out that they would get rich. There are millions of people who have collected books a long time that still get excited when they find truly unique books as this one, and to most of us true hobbyists, this is a incredible find. Especially being there are none other like it, and me being such a die hard Star Wars fan and comic book collector. I appreciate most of the responses in they gave some info about errors like this and some opinions on why they give green and not blue, and vice versa. That info is appreciated.

All I wanted to know about this book was:

The rarity. Now I know, that this is indeed the ONLY one of it's kind. There are no other Star Wars #107 with a Manufactured Printing Error like this. This was already a very low produced book to start, and with this error now makes it even more rare and unique.

Value based on rarity. Would this type of error appreciate the value because of how rare this error is and because this had a low production? Many errors out there depending on what they are can be worth pennies or platinum. We all (should) know that if we've been around comics. I know people like to sound smart and love to be heard but that's common sense in this hobby.

Why green instead of blue. There are plenty of examples out there from CGC that show the EXACT SAME notes, "MANUFACTURED WITH BLANK INTERIOR COVER" that have blue labels and not green. So I was wondering why or if anyone knew a couple specific things that made it green instead of blue.

That's all really. Thanks for your time!

    Examples, links?

Well it is a defective copy. Some us would actually pass or pay less for a book like this.

I wonder how this compares with Canadian GA books that have blank interior covers hm

How **** are you? ^^^ You wrote right there. IN PLURAL, "...Canadian GA books..." (THE "S" makes your word PLURAL, DERP!)

So I responded...."...especially since you used a PLURAL indicating there are many more than just one, unlike this SW 107."  ....because, you did use a plural when you asked about the many foreign "books" you had.

So you're dishonest language, illteracy and trolling is appalling.

Sounds like it wouldnt get hit much if judged as universal. If it's as rare/valuable as you think, it could be worthwhile to send it back and ask specifically for a Universal Label.

I am not entirely sure, I was thinking about having it sent back in and taking a hit to the grade to get a blue label. It's such an awesome and unique error, I will probably keep as is and put it on my way next to my 9.8's. I mean, the only other 107 Qualified I found out from a friend who works for one of the major auction websites said that it had a name written on marker. So, if there are more out there like this one of this exact book, no one else seems to be sending them in. This would be my first green label to go on my wall!

Or what about the Amazing Spider-Man Annual 1 that had blank covers?

At any rate, in terms of this being a "very rare" error....ok, sure. But valuable?

It's like the issue of Marvel Spotlight with Captain Marvel that is missing the issue number and the guy on ebay trying to sell his copy of DC Comics presents with a FF interior. To me, both are fun but worth more than an actual copy? In the case of the Marvel Spotlight, maybe I pay $1-2 more for the novelty of that error. Plus it is common. For a cover on a wrong book from an opposing publisher? Cool, maybe I pay $100 more to own something that unique.

This falls somewhere in there but closer to the Marvel Spotlight type error than the wrong cover for the wrong company type, if that makes sense. And again, you gotta find the guy who has to have it. 99% of guys completing a Star Wars run will want to pay market or less for their copy of 107. Why would they pay more for an oddball that appears the same from the outside? They won't. You need to find the oddball error comic collector and maybe, just maybe, you make a little more than your standard Star Wars 107 CGC 9.4 Blue.

Blue Star Wars 9.4 copies have been selling under $100. Maybe with the error you can eek out $125. I think hoping for more is dreaming.

Mind you, if you sell for $1000 I will happily admit I was wrong.

I could care less about the value of the book, as many of you are pointing out. I'm not trying to get rich. Many of you can say it, but I actually mean it. I get by just fine. I didn't make this post because I am gittier than a schoolgirl on prom night thinking I am going to become a millionaire LOL I literally just asked if anyone knew any more info on this book as far as, like anyone else heard of this error on this book, why they graded a green over a blue when there are plenty of examples of even the same exact errors on other books getting blue labels, like I said you guys can Google and find them or look on eBay lol, I could care less if this books sells for $50 or $5k. I have two 9.8's already and have 89/107 of the entire run....

I don't quite think people read my post right lol.

This kind of worries me. I have a really nice GA Fawcett book that was manufactured with the centrefold never having been attached. The staple never went through to it. I wouldn't want it coming back green just because of a manufacturing defect. Honestly, putting a green label on your star wars book doesn't sit right with me. Because a green label is meant to show what universal grade the book would get were it not the one big defect. Well, let's say they don't ignore the manufacturing defect of having that one blank page, would it not be a 9.4?

I got this reply back today from CGC but it still doesn't make sense, because I've seen errors he talks about with Universal blue labels, quite a lot. I know that if they did put a blue label on this, the grade would go down quite a bit from what I understand. seems they are treating this book like it's garbage rather than a very rare error. I also got an email back from Comic Link Auctions saying that this is the only known copy of this book with this printing error and it's already a low production, so it could be worth a good amount especially being Star Wars.

It's standard that manufacturing errors get a Green Label.  As Capra said, it depends on how the audience reacts.  For me, there is less value (I want blue or Yellow labels for my books) but there is no question there are "eccentric" collectors out there that want speciality anything, so if there exists a copy that is different then others, there is probably someone out there who wants it.  Will you get what you paid or more?  Depends on how many other eccentrics are out there wanting it and how many other copies exist.  Yours is only one of 2 qualified labels in existence so if there are other copies out there that have this manufacturing defect in it, people aren't sending it into CGC.

I have had more examples on other posts on different sites of people showing pics of their blue labels with MANUFACTURED WITH BLANK INTERIOR COVER to one persons green label with it, and not sure it was there's, think it was a pic they found. All in all though, the census is besides being only one of two green labeled Star Wars #107 in existence is, this could be a much more rare print of this book than originally thought. Might replace one of my 9.8's in that case. I will keep digging though, hopefully nothing turns out making it a one of a kind hahaha :D

  14. Hey guys, so I sent in a Star Wars #107 to get graded, knew it could come back 9.2 or better and was super excited when I saw it Finalized/etc.. but after checking the grader's notes and the label....I am not sure how to take this.

I received a green Qualified Label 9.4 and it's noted that, "MANUFACTURED WITH BLANK INTERIOR COVER.".

So my question, how common is this blank interior cover? Did I just ruin the value of this book by getting a Green Label, or does the fact that this is an error issue, do you think this helped the value ?

I have never run into this before and no, I was not the one who sent this is. Someone just did what I asked and didn't really know to look through them, happened to a few books out I sent in lol.

I provided a screenshot. Any information, or where I can find more information on this would most appreciated!!
