  1. That Batman 248 on the top of the front cover, was that a missing piece or chipping?
  2. X-Men #29 1967 Sorry for the cell phone pics instead of scans but I was at my LCS and they have several books with the same back cover defect. Also, if anyone knows where a mark like that on the back cover starts you at grade-wise before considering the rest of the book, that would be a huge help. Thanks for the help on this one
  3. X-Men #59 1969 Looks like the scans capture the defects very well, off-white to white pages. The back cover has a printer's crease on the top left. A nice copy featuring the art of the great, and fondly remembered, Neal Adams. Thanks all!
  4. So my local comic shop has a bunch of silver age issues from a collector who decided to write his initials on the back of every book very large and in black marker. It doesn't go through to the last page before the back cover. My question is, with this defect what is the highest grade I can expect, or rather, what is the hit for this defect? Thanks!
  5. Amazing Spider-Man #107 1972 The scans pic up everything really well, off-white pages. I definitely feel like I wanted this to be better than it actually is, but, I'll let you all decide! Thanks
  6. Strange Tales #157 I don't see anything missed in the scans, pretty normal range of defects. Pages are Off-White. Thanks again
  7. X-Men #24 1966 This one looks pretty straight-forward as the scans seem to pick up the defects well. Off-white pages inside. Thanks for your help
  8. Captain America #103 (1968) "The Weakest Link!" Who will the Red Skull vote off of Comic Book Island!?! This book is pretty straight-forward and I think the scans capture everything well. What I think you may not see in the scans; Off-White pages, and two light 1/2' indentations on the cover on the Skulls right shoulder. Thanks again
  9. Journey into Mystery #111 (1964) With Thor! The scans do a good job of picking up the defects. What I think you can't see, Off-White pages, some light creasing or bends on the front cover, bottom right, a 2/16" tear back cover, bottom middle and what I think are printer's creases? Found on the back cover, upper left in the pic of the guy hypnotizing the woman on the couch. Thanks everyone
  10. Sub-Mariner #12 1969 Everything shows up pretty well in the scans except, Off-White pages, and a 1/2" crease on the lobster monsters right foot. Thanks again
  11. the Amazing Spider-Man #74 1969 The only things I think you can't see in the scans are, Off-White pages, 3/16" tear bottom, left, front cover and a 1/16" tear on the back cover, top, center-ish. Appreciate the help
  12. Here Comes...Daredevil #49 1969 Everything looks like it shows up in the scans except maybe, Off-White pages, and a pencil-head eraser sized indentation in the middle right of the front cover. Thanks all!
  13. The Silver Surfer #17 (1968 Series) "The Surfer Must KILL!" Batman would be horrified. I think the scans pick up all the defects very well for this particular issue. Off-White pages. Thanks
  14. Silver Surfer #11 (1968 Series) What I think you may not see in the scans; Off-White to White pages, an indentation starting above the word "Spaceways" on the cover and moving down about an inch, it can also be found on the back cover so something heavy was placed on the book, to the right of that indentation on the cover is a 1/4" tear. That line on the back cover, left side, a little bit down the side is a printer's crease. Thanks again!
  15. Silver Surfer #12 "Reborn --- The ABOMINATION!" I think the scans capture the defects very well as they are pretty straight-forward. Off-White pages. Thanks for the help
  16. X-Men #62 (1963 Series) KA-ZAR Strikes! Nothing weird defect-wise and the scans do a good job of picking everything up. The back cover has two printer's creases on the lower left. Interior pages are White to Off-White. Thanks again for your help
  17. Silver Surfer #15 (1968 Series) Torch vs Surfer! Pretty straightforward as far as defects and the scans go. The things I think you may not be able to see in the scans are off-white pages, and that crease that starts front cover, top, middle and going to the right-hand side about 3/4's of the way down the right side, is evident when held up to a light, very faint where it doesn't break color. Thanks all!
  18. Hahaha. I was putting in the measurements of some defects on the other book I posted, the ASM 71, and I thought to myself I bet that guy shows up again. And here you are, right on time! You sure you don't wanna grade a book while your here? Doesnt even have to be one of mine.
  19. Amazing Spider-Man #71 1969. Everything seems to show up fairly well in the scans except maybe, off-white to white pages, a crease on the pic of Quiclsilver at 2 o'clock starting at his left shin where it breaks color and moves up to the title eventually fading out around the "M" in Spider-Man, another crease on the same Quicksilver that starts at his left thigh where it breaks color and then fades out around his rib-cage, some printer's creases above Spidey's head and again about 3" and 4" up the spine but starting about a 1/2" out and moving towards the books middle, and lastly that spine stress on the spine just above Quicksilver's arm extends to the right for an 1" and a 1/4".
  20. ASM #226. I think you can see everything in the scans except, off-white to white pages, an indentation in the black of the cat's shadow back leg almost 2/16". That's a memorable cover for sure. Thanks
  21. I didn't catch that on the scan but you're right, there's a line plainly visible in the scan. I checked the book and couldn't see that line so I re-scanned. See below. Edit: The scan of the back cover did the same thing but there is no line on the actual book.
  22. Captain America #104 1968. Everything looks like it shows up in the scans except, off-white pages, and if you didn't catch when enlarged, there's a crease about a 1/2" in from the spine running the length of the book. Is this called a "reader's crease"? It's very faint but is evident where it crosses color. Top staple has a little discoloration. And the spot on the back cover, left side, middle, that looks like a tear is a crease. Thanks again all
  23. Axe Elf, if you could provide a grade of the book that would be cool. In the meantime, I will go find a ruler and learn how to use it.
  24. Oh ohhhh, hahahaha. I meant 2/16" But you guys probably figured that by the scans... Ill edit in the correction
