  1. Why did GoCollect drop the value of X-Men 1 so far down in all grades?
  2. An ugly .5 sold this morning for $5644. It had a lot of tape and a large rectangle cut out of the bottom left. It seems X-Men 1 continues to maintain a high barrier for entry-level copies, despite prices slightly slipping in high grades.
  3. At the same time, entry level .5-1.5s still seem to remain stable. A 1.0 sold for $8k recently on eBay, for instance. An interesting trend to see high grades slipping (which I'm sure is just a temporary correction and in the long term the previous highs will seem low), while low grades stay high. I would guess this is because X-Men is becoming popular among younger generations (who tend to have less money on average) while older gens (who tend to be more wealthy) are sticking to stuff like FF and ASM. I don't have any data to back that up or anything, just a theory.
  4. I'm not surprised. I think Hulk 1, FF1, and AF15 are all correcting upwards to meet X1's spikes over the past few months.
  5. Absolutely agree. The lower grades seem to really be proof of this; that restored .5 that sold for $8500 and the blue label .5 that sold for $6k both presented well for their grades, while the CLink auction that went for $4300 (or something close to that) and the .5 on eBay that's sitting at $5500 BIN have much less eye appeal. I would be curious to see the sales data of other major keys with less supply, like Hulk 1 or FF1, and see if they experience this trend to a lesser extent because of their rarity.
  6. Interesting, is there some sort of movie announcement I don't know about?
  7. Has anyone else noticed comics not really moving as much during the weekdays? Over the past couple weeks, I've made literally zero eBay sales Monday-Friday but still making plenty of sales on the weekends. Prior to this, I was selling just as much during the week as on the weekends. Obviously this is very anecdotal, but I'm curious, have any other sellers around here had a similar experience recently?
  8. How low are you looking? I'm not selling one, but there are a few in the .5-1.5 range on eBay and I believe there's a .5 on ComicLink.
  9. X-Men 4; can't afford to buy one at this current moment, and by the time I will be able to, Doctor Strange 2 will most likely be out and it will have jumped out of reach. Honorable mention to Hulk 181, but that's not an SA book so it doesn't count.
  10. That is a beautiful .5! I have one at the same grade, but yours looks much nicer.
  11. The restored .5 accepted an offer, it didn't sell for $9k. Although a .5 blue label sold for $6k just a few days ago, which is also unreal.
  12. They're different people. SA is Kevin Plunder, GA is David Rand.
  13. Tales of Suspense #33, #34, and #35 (Watcher prototype, ripped centerfold)
  14. Tales of Suspense #31 (Doom Prototype; discoloration along right edge)
  15. Tales of Suspense #26 (front cover and centerfold detached from bottom staple, but still attached at top; small tape on interior cover)
