Lots of reasons. Starting with panel 2 on page 1. Absolutely nothing in Hanks entire output looks anything like this. Believe me....this is NOT by Hanks...Even the signature is off. -Paul

Nice stuff, but, though it is signed "Fletcher Hanks", I am certain that it ain't drawn by Hanks. Hence, it ain't in the books. Nice try! I am still hoping to find any stories that I may have overlooked. thanks, -Paul

Hi Buttock (what a cheeky name!), Sorry for the delayed response. "I Shall Destroy All The Civilized Planets" should be available from your local comics store. The first two editions sold out much quicker than anyone guessed that they would, but the third edition is now in. Ask your store owner first, please. Everyone makes out better (including yourself) when you support your local store. I will be in Brooklyn on Friday night , April 18, signing books at a new comics store in Williamsburg called Desert Island along with Mark Newgarden. I will have Hanks' earliest non-published work on display there and Mark will be showing some Garbage Pail Kids rejects. Then on Saturday, April 19 I will be at the NY Comic Con signing books at the Fantagraphics booth from 1-3. Drop by and say Hi!

As I understand it, the Hanks book has done moderately well in France. So far there have been no other offers for other foreign editions. I think it would do very well in Japan, though...they seem to like twisted American stuff. I still need some help tracking down those missing tales. Any idea where to turn? Any other message boards, collectors groups, anything? Also, I will be signing Hanks books in New York on April 18 at Desert Island in Brooklyn and on April 19 at the New York Comic Con. Now THAT"S the kind of response I was hoping to get from y'all! Why don't you guys get in touch with me via the CONTACT page at www.fletcherhanks.com website and I can get you the specs. While you are there, I suggest that you check out the obituary of Fletcher Hanks, Jr. who, I am sorry to say, died a few weeks ago. BTW, PointFive: I imagine that if a second volume DOES appear a Space Smith story will be included. I am fairly certain that these stories were largely sketched-in by Hanks but most of the penciling and inking was done by an inferior hand. There are one or two that are pretty good, though. Does anyone know anyone else who might be able to help me out? Thanks a million! -Paul K.
