  1. I am putting together books for an upcoming signing. I have books in the group that are already graded and in slabs. I understand once cracked and signed they will go through the grading process again. Can i send in a box of mixed raw and graded slabs together for a signing. Will cgc crack them and have them signed together with the raw books or do i have to crack them myself and send in raw.

The market needs to speak and vote with their feet. And maybe it already has and the market is saying "Even with all these issues, it's still worth it to send my books it."

If several thousand books pass in and out of CGC every day (who knows what the actual number is), and that business is still innovating new ways to publicize and market their product (new sets of designer labels, new signing events, new record-high sales of grails, new VHS market, etc.) without ever publicly acknowledging their QC issues and only tangentially acknowledging their TAT backlogs, maybe that's their focus because that's where the market is still pointing them.

For those who make their livelihood hitching their income streams to CGC's product and reputation, this is similar to the "supply-chain" breakdown where you just can't get the supplies you need to keep your business going because of the upstream QC/TAT backlog. Really sucks.

A public acknowledgement of the problem and a concerted, visible, concrete set of steps delineated to reduce the problem would go a long way, but may also feed right into their competitor's advantage.

Woolworth's was great, until it wasn't anymore.

This is exactly the case. i have been grading books for a few friends and after the relaibilty issues with QC i made the decision yesterday to contact everone and let them know i could no longer submit for them as i cant consciously give them subpar slabs and possibly eat cost trying to fix it. Definitely a supply chain breakdown.

  3. Just opened another box of 25 wilth 17 to return for scratches. Im not attaching a photo cause its the same scratch down the front as the last 2 boxs. Thats 62 slabs of 75 waiting on reholder. Rachel at customer service says if the scratces are not bad enough i may eat the cost. I surrender, I cant honestly continue to send in books as nothing is changing and appears there is no quality control anymore and a complete lack of acceptance on cgc part. Customer service is really good to deal with but every time i call they act like there suprised and there is not  ongoing issues with " will send a note to the comic depatment and see if there aware of any issues" :(

  4. I just recieved a box of 25, every slab had I scratch down the front plus one with a piece of white debris in the slab. This is my 6th box in a row that has had books with scratches or scuffs. It's definitely not happening during shipping. The books are obviously not being looked at before being packaged. Someone is supposed to be contacting me via phone call. Will be interested to see what they have to say.

  5. Hi there I am inquiring about Submission #: 3873778

These books were delivered in May under the value tier and have been scheduled for grading since  One of your last updates said 170 days for value so I'm a little concerned. Could you check in on this please

  6. Hi there

I am looking to ship a box of magazines and magazine size comics last ronin, batman damned.

What is the maximum number of magazine size slabs that can be shipped via FedEx international to Canada in one box

    Thanks in advance

  7. Hi there I have been reading up on your restoration and conservation methods and grading.  If I used Linco mending tape on the inside of this cover to attach the piece as pictured would it be considered restoration or universal with a lower grade

    Thanks

  8. Hi there

I have a mystery tales 4 that has a detached corner. It measures 1.5" . Color and detail is good. I would like to have the book slabbed as other than the corner its in nice condition. I do not want it restored. If the book is sent in for grading with the detached corner in place will the graders/ encasers put the piece in place in the slab or will it be sent back/discarded.
