In my 20-someodd years collecting I've never seen this many flippers. People looking to make a buck hustling are like cockroaches. The number of collectors is much higher than I've ever seen as well, which would mean more homes for books and less turnover.

I started with the weak stuff, that was supposed to be non-addictive - the dailies in the newspapers, Sunday funnies and paperbacks.
Little did I know that they were gateway drugs into Hell.

I vividly remember buying Avengers 93 off the newsstand. My next oldest brother took me on a rabbit and squirrel hunting trip to Christmas Valley, Oregon and we stopped at a little store in Gilchrist, Oregon and they had a stack of them. It was the first issue of Avengers I ever purchased.
It looks like that must have been August of 1971, so I would have been 10, and my brother would have been 17. Traveling in an old, white 1961 Dodge pick-up from our home in Oakridge, Oregon.
