Wow - its been a couple days since Harvey has had to post the cartoon of the guy smashing his computer. Must be a record!
-
I'd consider trading a low grade ASM 50 for that second offer so no veto from me. Good luck mate.
-
Almost everyone seemed to be quick at slamming my offer and/or calling my reasoning for going with $40-$50 range BS.
.
I missed your offers...which one was $40-50?
Swick posted these values:
Option 1: $17.48Option 2: $21.23
Option 3: $6.73 + $14.99
Option 4: $17.41
Option 5: $20.49
Was there an offer that combined 3 out of these 5?
Only in an idea I floated to him via PM.

Here is my first offer which is pretty sweet if I do say so. Its a limited edition post card designed, signed and sketched by our own Shiverbones. It was limited to just 25 and the sketch on the back was done in black ink. Very heavy paper on this one - perfect for framing with one of his other pieces.
Option 2 - Vengeance of Bane 1 - 2 spine ticks so I give it a 9.4/9.6
and Black Panther 1 VF/NM
Option 3 - GD+ to GD/VG copy of Spiderman 50 - Sorry for the pen but the upper right corner looks nice and clean
with option 3
Well, heck, let's do it, option #3.
I should have some valuable drek kicking around at home, I'll post two options later today/tonight.
Thanks. Please get me off the hot seat - its draining.

RAK alert!!!
First wins! I'm not limiting to only those who have not taken a RAK yet, but if you have, let others have a go at this first please.
Choose one:
Option 1: X-Men Masterworks
X-Men Volume One
Uncanny X-Men Volume Two
Option 2: Guardians of the Galaxy Funkos!
The whole set:
Option 3: Batman Hardcovers
Batman - Death in the Family (volume three)
Batman - A Celebration of 75 years
Option 4: Marvel Select figures
Green Goblin vs. Spider-man - Recreate ASM #39 cover!
Thanos!!!
Meeklo, as you received a Strike, I'm sorry but there is no participation for a month. RAK's included.
I'm sure they'll gladly be claimed in a month.
Well since the ability for me to own up to my own mistake was taken from me and I "have" to accept a strike…I think I'll leave this up as a goodwill token. Makes me feel better being able to do something I believe is right without anyone judging me or it. So if anyone wants it, feel free to post a or even PM me a if you feel like you could be cast out from the group.
I love you wanting to give but why not come back in one month and use your great offer to make some people happy. This thread will probably be around for awhile so why not abide by the rules and come back in a month and join in any way you feel comfortable with.
Because I would like the opportunity to prove that my offer was not about greed or trying to cheat anyone. Almost everyone seemed to be quick at slamming my offer and/or calling my reasoning for going with $40-$50 range BS.
So while it is still on everyone's mind, I want to be able to do the right thing. I will not accept any offers or RAKs for a month but I'm okay with someone taking mine if they want. No reason I should have to wait on giving to others…..
I don't understand your reasoning. I sent you an idea of combining several of your offerings into one big offer and you said you could not or would not do that. Now you are giving away the batch of books and stuff even though its currently against the rules.

Looks like I'm back in the hot seat. My current offer still stands for now.

I have always operated from the tree's perspective. I give what I can with no expectation of anything in return. My giving was, and is my gift to myself. I know the person who only takes is living a lonely existence. I felt for both the boy and the tree. The boy for always chasing happiness which he would find right where he started from and for the tree because she deserved recognition for her selflessness. I also greatly admired her for being so selfless and that she was never diminished for the giving.
My point is not everyone will be able to match value for value. Some may only be able to genuinely give a fraction in return but it is given with the same level of generousness as the item they claimed. Should that prevent them from taking part? I would hope not but that is how it is coming across.
You passion for this project is evident. Please know that is seen and recognized.
I was not around during the inception but that was the format used with the PIF thread. Sounds like lessons were learned the hard way and the current rules were put in place to avoid some of those mistakes from being repeated.

I think Cricket hit the nail on the head - it comes down to what people want which doesn't always translate into money. I really would have loved to offer up some books that have been sitting around for awhile but the ASM 50 is on a lot of peoples want list (especially a nice presenting reader copy) and I thought someone would like it. I could have offered up $150 worth of general stuff I have around the house like a pile of TPBs but this thread is offering that which you think others would want. Would the ASM 50 have sold quickly and will I miss it - yep but I thought someone on the boards would dig it so it went up as an offer.
-
I told Meeko his offer would have to match up a lot better if he wanted to avoid the veto. He told me that he was unable to do that due to financial reasons. I spent 5/10 minutes writing out my veto message and in the mean time he took back his offer. I think it was evident that my veto was on its way.

Well, in the attempt to bring some positive vibes up in here...
I would like to jump into the fray, and the Spiderman 50 if I may.
Already contemplating my offering...
Nice! It presents even better in hand - I'll throw a couple more reader spideys into the priority envelope for you.
-
I've been in discussions with Meeko and I know he has tried really hard to bring his offers up to a certain level but I'm going to use my veto option on these offers. I simply do not see these offers as being in line with the offers of this thread and I unfortunately see them not being accepted and grinding the thread to a halt. Sorry Meelko but my offer is back on the table. I'll add more offers if this one sits until this evening.
Happy to let him take back his offer.

Well, to be fair, 1cool's offer was a low grade copy that goes for approx. $40-$50 on da bay. So the definite downward spiral has happened.I didn't say that - I sent him a polite e-mail and I'm definitely not against wielding my veto rights.(thumbs u
Just seeing that "offer" made me a little and reminded me of WHY I created this thread to begin with. To prevent someone from taking an Amazing Spider-Man #50 and offering up something that you could buy off Amazon for less than $20.
I had it at $70 - $75 and it would have sold within a week.

You get to CHOOSE an option?! Yes, that is You took an ASM #50?!
You told me I was being too harsh with people and we shouldn't talk about money?
-
Option 3: ASM #50
Meeko! Congrats man and I'm glad to hear your cat is doing better.
-
Yup, that's what he meant.
I still don't get it even though I know its a joke. Is his RAK like the monster and everyone is running from it?
-
Is Kav busy doing sketched? I though low grade Silver-Age books were what he was looking for.
-
Kind of like:
Need a lift like this gent to swing on over to the Giving Tree to grab 1Cool's offer?
Sweet. I didn't have one sitting around so I thought my offer would never get taken!
-
Do any of you with unclaimed RAK, ever wonder if the delivery of said RAK could possibly play out like this?
What do you mean? Did you include the book in with your RAK?
-
I checked the centerfold and its nice and tight. The staples are both holding on very firmly and no missing coupons or pages. It does have a subscription crease and the couple corners off the front page along with a small piece off the corner in the back. Nice presenting lower grade key ASM in my book.

Claudio you are treating this like a democracy. Some times you either have to voice your opinion and let it go or walk away if the thread is irritating you. Demanding answers or clarifications of rules is not getting you the results you want.
