  1. If the forum self-proclaimed ubermensch joined in, then this thread could be epic. But that would mean giving stuff away for free. It's apparently a lot easier to be superior and moan a lot about everyone else rather than support Justin and co. Ironically, it's the ones who can afford the most who give so little. Of course, if that happened, this would be the "Charge by the hour Tree" What's the current offer, and how long to go - maybe someone will step up? Wow - is this directed at anyone in particular? Some people just do not feel like being involved with this thread and calling them out is not going to make them want to more. Lets just keep to the offers on the table and try to be a nicer, friendlier thread. All offers are great!
  2. I think we should hold off saying offers are good or not. Think about the person who did not get this kind of comment. They could be insulted and not come back. Please keep your comments to just the facts, please. Thanks!
  3. First time I read it I thought someone hacked his account Who is Tnerb?
  4. I forgot you have not picked anything yet. Still waiting for the perfect wave.
  5. How about a Grimm Fairy Tales #2 Fan Expo virgin variant Ltd. 500 added to the current offer? OPTION 2: option 2 I'm just in the middle of some family stuff but I'll post my offers in the next hour or so. Looks like you get to pick two books from the previous offer. Great pick up!
  6. Doesn't it end tomorrow at 11:00? If the right person isn't looking at the right time you could be cutting it close.
  7. Good point - what is the current thread... This has turned into an "Exploit Kav" thread! Maybe he's got enough free commissions to do for now, Perhaps wait until he organises a sale, at least that way, Kav gets a buck or two. I'll certainly put a paid order in when you get organised Kav. Perhaps an experienced sketch person could give Kav some pointers on how to set a sale up? Fair play to you Kav - your generosity, in art and time has been wonderful. Somebody else must have said that since I promised to not talk about the offers on the table.
  8. Sweet Black Cat Kav. I recently talked to a younger member of the group about coming up with an offer that would get taken. I told him we all have talents and stuff that can be given. Some its comics - some its art - some its coming up with cool logos. What ever it is - we all can give in our own ways.
  9. Here is my RAK - good reading and I particularly enjoyed the Mad book. Brings back memories of being a kid. I wasn't too blown away by the Secret book but that is the fun of reading a TPB is I didn't have to buy the series and not like it.
  10. Keeping the thread on first page bump.
  11. I'll take em and post up some RAK books I'm done reading. I love checking out new books to see if I like them.
  12. So . . no modern collectors interested in the current offer?
  13. Pics are so small I can barely see which books are there and I've got pretty good eyes.
  14. Probably more in line with the intent of the thread to say you have so many cool books to send to others. Welcome to the party!
  15. Okay, taking the pictures now. If this offer isn't good enough then I'll find a new message board. Peace, Chip I love that you are back but let's try to be positive today. Sounds like you are throwing up a new offer today which I hope you do not see as an all or nothing offer. I through up 4 different offers before Ryan grabbed the omni's and I have to admit I was getting pretty frustrated at that point but I would have come up with another offer I felt comfortable with in a day or so if no one grabbed my sets. This should be a fun process - you have three days to figure it out so it doesn't need to be a part time job but a fun diversion.
  16. Chip has offered the ASM 298 and 289 to me which I'm only willing to do if it helps mend some fences. He offered up his current offer to anyone and pretty much said he is done with the thread other than to offer up books from time to time. He was very upset last night so I'm hoping a resolution can be worked this sunny morning. The current offer is a nice LL 70 and some Sups books.
  17. Come on Greggy - you know you want that LL 70. It can be the only lower grade book in your collection.
  18. The Lois Lane book is very cool. But after the way everyone piled on Chip there is no way I'm ever participating in this thread. If you want more people participating in this thread you have a funny way of showing it. Good luck with TGT. The person offering up the LL was hoping you would think it was cool. If you take it then post up a book you think others will think is cool also. If your wrong then throw up another cool book until you find a person with your same taste. Takes some time but it's pretty much what the thread is about.
  19. I guess everyone else is sleeping off their hangover or licking their wounds from last nights fight. But like any good fight it hopefully is about resolving issues so you can move forward. I can be harsh and blunt at times and even I will say people were harsh with Chip but come on man - playing the "I don't have time to change up my offer" and "I can't give away my new books" cards was pretty weak. I bet most of the books offered here could be put in the "inventory" category if the person wants to. Your second offer was quickly looking to be a dud since people just do not have a use for a non complete set of that series. I don't know your situation but pulling one nicer book from the stack you just purchased and offering it up would have been a great gesture. By saying you don't have time to post up another book is a slap in the face of all the people that took so much time putting this thread together and those that put in hours trying to get back your stolen money.
  20. Sold point. Probably would work equally as well.
  21. Aren't most of the perceived issues with PIF is people taking big ticket offerings and offering up drek? Money typically defines drek. True-but drek to me is more Shadowhawk II # 3-now the previous poster can certainly veto, but Chip has made it well known where his income falls. I think he legitimately is trying to offer a package thriftily that's made somewhat of a theme. I think Chip sounds like a great guy and I wish him a quick financial turn-around but I see his offer as a step down compared to the two Spiderman books. I have no veto power so I guess we will just see how things go. I retract what I said. Chip - leave your books up for a day and see how things go. Maybe I'm completely off-base on what people are looking for. I tend to assign value to most things and doing a cost to benefit analyses is part of my everyday life as an Engineer so maybe I take it too far at times. I promise no more comments from me about quality of the offers except to accept the offers I like. I'm cool enough to accept when I need to go another route. I honestly thought you were joking when you posted slagging off his offer so quickly. +1 must be sarcasm, no one would be that harsh that quick. Nope - I was trying to be blunt and honest and came across as harsh and crass.

  23. Sounds great in principal. Lets see how things go once we have a few offers expire.
