  1. If his recent issue was his first strike then I can see forgiving him. But I can't see any reason to not ban him since this is at least his third major issue in the short time he has been on the boards. Just like a bad buyer on E-Bay - ban and move on.
  2. Question for Ducky since I'm curious - would you have changed your offer if the rules wouldn't have been changed to allow anyone to grab an offer after 2 days? Or do you feel the offer is good so it is what you are sticking with?
  3. When you post will not matter if we use a 24 hour grace period if a side offer was recently taken. I don't think anyone should feel like they need to tailor their post time to other people's schedule.
  4. He did ask before grabbing it and no one told him they wanted it - but it was at 1:08 AM out here in the East. I think if a person waits 1 days to see if other people want the item after recently getting a freebee would be great.
  5. ...so people shouldn't be hogs and give others a chance to claim freebies. Makes perfect sense. If not it'd be reminiscent to those that just laid in wait over in the PIF thread... The definition of a hog can vary person to person which can cause issues. Would once every two weeks be a good time frame for not appearing to be excessive? Unless a free offer sits for more than a day then it is up for grabs?
  6. For someone who is hopping into this thread I can imagine it being confusing. The official offer can always be found on the 2nd post of the thread and there are extra freebees being offered from time to time. The new "wrinkle" is official offers can now be taken by anyone if the offer sits for more than two days. The effects of this new rule are yet to be seen but I think they will be mostly positive unless you are sitting around waiting for that ultra special premium offer to be posted by someone.
  7. I went to find out more about this item on E-Bay and WOW - that's one heck of a free offer man! Those things not only look sweet but they are like gold. I thought at first there was tacos inside which seemed a little strange but its sweet that the inside is stuff full of figures. Great idea Marvel!
  8. Thanks Harvey! Of course its at night here in the East. I guess the set wont be coming to Ohio since I'm sure it will be gone by the time I get up at 6:30
  9. Does anyone know when Ducky's first offer was posted? I think the 48 period is up tonight but I can't find the time he posted up his first offer.
  10. It's not all about money but since you asked for clarification. The Spiderman 298 & 299 will have to be taken as a pair since that was the offer. I can't imagine things will work well if people can take partial offers. And the 298 is a $50 book where as the books you have in your offer are $5 books on most sites. I assume you are quoting cover price for your books which is not reasonable since they all go for much less then cover if you were to buy or sell them second hand.
  11. If those two Spiderman books sat for over a day I'm afraid your sets are definetely going to be a tough sell.
  12. A little over a day and you can grab em. They look sweet to me.
  13. OK so the rolling one HAS to be based on when they claimed something.....like everything else other than your 48 hour rule. This is giving me a headache. I'm going to be insane by the time a month rolls around at this rate.
  14. You are a lawyer - look what you and your kind have done to us. Its all in the fine print and the interpretation of the law.
  15. Hope these stay around for another day - I need a nice set to go with the ASM 300 I'm getting from Comicalgems.
  16. This sort of illustrates why I suggested the community veto option initially. I think it's easier for 3rd parties to voice this opinion (which I applaud you for doing), where it might make the original offeror feel guilty or reluctant to step on anyone's toes. I'm not assuming the original offeror doesn't want to invoke the veto, maybe he just hasn't seen it yet, but I could see where people might not want to push the big red veto button and where it would be much easier for 3rd parties to step forward. I would feel uncomfortable vetoing-and now that I think of it the last veto was used only after other boardies expressed dissatisfaction with the offer....this may be something to consider... With all the veto power being in the hands of the original person who offered the books, you better believe they will receive plenty of "push" from the community to veto offers that may grind the thread to a halt.
  17. Yes, you get to keep the Spider-man books. This was discussed already. The person offering up the books to you could have used their veto. They didn't. If they choose not to, they have to send the books. And we will not be "reverting back" to previous offers. That is called the PIF thread. (thumbs u Thanks for the clarification. I saw it outlined in the rules but I've been known to misread them.
  18. I need some clarification. Lets say I took this fine offer and then my offering was not taken within the 3 day window for whatever reason. No veto was issued. I get a strike. Do I get to keep the Spiderman books and then someone else has to come up with an offer for me? Or does my offer become null in void and these spiderman books go back up for others to grab?
  19. I think the longevity of the thread will pull in a bunch more people. I've had a couple larger deeds say the avoid the thread since these predict a train wreck. The lack of a train wreck will prompt people to take a look.
  20. Sweet idea! I've got 28 days to kill. Easier done one day at a time!
  21. Not only that.... but add some more threads with different value minimums like the poker tables in A.C. I can't wait to see the action at the $1000 blind tables threads. Only problem is people will claim Youngblood #1 is a $1000 comic then show some shilled auction to support it.... WHAT!! You mean those bagged Star Trek books are not worth $125!
  22. Was the Incredible Hulk pun intended?
  23. I think the new grey hulk has blue pants.
  24. Every time I get a package from you its written on the package I can put you on ignore to ensure you get no more packages from me. How's that?? I'm due to get another package today
