  1. Not sure if this goes here, but has anybody else had bad luck with recent marvel books?

the last two weeks at least one of my new books Hulk #7 and avengers forever # 6 have had the center pages disconnected from the bottom staple. The latter book being extremely unfortunate for this to happen to.

The outside of the books are pristine and you wouldn’t even notice it if you were just flipping through the pages, so I’m assuming it wasn’t the fault of my LCS or their distributor.

Is anybody else experiencing this or am I just getting unlucky?

I’ve noticed the page quality of marvel books has taken a nosedive recently, so I’m wondering if Marvel is just cutting as many corners as possible

These crossover books seem to get overlooked sometimes until the 3rd or 4th issue drops.  Collectors of either franchise jump on and seek out the 1st couple of issues only to find that pickings are slim.  I have a handful of every issue so far as I figured the set would be a good mid to longterm hold.  I wasn't aware that #1 was picking up steam.

The same has happened with He-Man Tundercats to a lesser extent.  Also Freddie Williams III on covers.  That is a $50+ set in NM.  I would assume this new PR vs Godzilla has a much smaller print run.

That makes sense. I’m one of maybe two people at my LCS who pulls the regular MMMPR series, so we got to talking about the crossover book and they mentioned that they had to order a lot more MMPR/Godzilla than originally planned since it was selling well.

Hopefully this leads to more MMPR crossover books

  3. Hello,

Sorry if this isn’t the right place for this, but I’m wondering what the best service to use is when shipping comics with semi high value ($500+)

    UPS? USPS priority? Priority express?

is there an agreed upon best way to ship out comics that you want to make sure are delivered that will also protect yourself as a seller if the customer tries something shady?

    Thanks in advance

  4. I don’t understand why second, third, fourth, etc. prints are valuable and sought after these days.. I know somebody will tell me “low print run” which I kind of get, but with that logic what’s the point of ever buying a newly released comic these days until the second printing comes out..?

and if the particular comic is a first appearance then how are later prints of that issue still considered the first appended when they are released months after the true first appearance (first print) came out?

By that logic my facsimile Hulk 181 is the first appearance of Wolverine and surely has a lower print run than the original, so how much are you willing to pay me for it?

Am I the only one who is baffled by this recent trend? I just don’t see the value of these later prints holding up

I dont know of any MMPR Manga so not sure. I know I don't consider super sentai 2 as their first appearance. It was more of a magazine about the show and not a comic. The FOTL is an actual comic book format story and art.

I wish there was a clear definitive answer in what is their first appearance. I’m confident that power rangers are going to see a TMNT esque push within the next 5ish years and it would be nice to know what books to put money into

  6. Can somebody more knowledgeable than me help answer a question?

on TMNT adventures 1, there seems to be two different versions of the Canadian price variant. There was a sale today on eBay for a TMNT adv #1 Canadian price variant and this version doesn’t have a barcode on the cover.

My copy of the Canadian price variant has a barcode on the cover.

I’m assuming this means that there are two versions of the Canadian price variant? Is this right or am I confused

I'd argue that Bebop and Rocksteady's first appearances are in 2, not 1 - they don't have names in the first issue and they're still human. They first show up in their mutated forms (and are first called by name) in issue #2. But it seems the masses feel differently...

I’m sure it wouldn’t hurt to grab #2 just in case!

Tmnt adventure 1? That's an undervalued book

Yeah, that’s the one. I had five or more on my watch list and they all were bought up on the same day.

I agree with you about it being undervalued. IMO this is the last TMNT book with any big first appearances that hasn’t blown up yet.

I’d argue that Bebop, Rocksteady and Krang are more widely known than Casey Jones, but I could be wrong.
