  1. Always a nice Duck Foundation copy to own. Doesn't get any better...always marketable.
  2. I have a 30 cent version of this issue. Could that be a Canadian issue ?
  3. Knowing the way Geppi does bizniz, he's probably paying Mrs. Hamilton over time for the entire collection...can you imagine trying to market all of that collection yourself? A full time job, certainly. The sword cuts both ways, however, there was no one who would buy the entire Hamilton Estate, Mrs. H gets her money, she and the heirs are set as long as Mr. G. is able to sell the stuff through his many venues. Steve gets to cherry pick what he wishes to keep and everyone (hopefully) is happy. Re: Heritage Auction: good to see that the WD FINE ART OF DD is still holding it's value at arouund $1K.
  4. Between Heritage Auction and Morphy's Auctions looks as if Geppi is unloading a large amount of the Bruce Hamilton Estate into the marketplace as well as some of Geppi's own mid-grade comics. It will be interesting to see how they are absorbed into the marketplace.
  5. Is Egmont the publisher of the Euro set ? Anyone stateside carry it...like Bud Plant ?
  6. I still enjoy thumbing the CBL for its crisp B&W renditions of Barks stories..they really pop out at you...especially the early U$ tales... How many of you own this set ?
  7. Is Morphy's owned by Geppi & Co. ? I am surprised that Steve would allow something like that to go down considering the investment he has in seeing that Duck books do well. Whoever was in charge of that auction should be sat down and talked to! If I was the consignor and got wind of the other auction, I'd go stand in traffic and hope for a quick end.
  8. re U$:#179...have any sold for more than the two raw issues that sold for $1200 & $1250 about 7 years ago ?
  9. It WAS rare before the advent of eBay.
  10. Amazing how many of these #179's have popped up since the advent of eBay. I wonder how the demand might have changed over the years on this issue ?
  11. Something to ponder.... Do HG U$ slabbed reprints bring higher than Guide prices? ..and, if so why ?....they're reprints, afterall.
  12. is there a book length spine bend..or is it a scanner shadow ?
  13. Brown cane is the variant... if I knew how to upload images to this site i'd show you what it looks like...

    Uh-oh...

    gotta love the How-To images!
  15. Thanks Monty! I knew someone was keeping count.... I'm away from my Gerber books... are all of the FC titles pictured there ? BTW: is there a collector here who does have a complete FC set or know of anyone who does?
  16. Hardy Boys...couldn't get enough of them on the MM Club Show.. read every Dixon authored book back in the day.... will never forget those coins pouring out of the wall.. to this day, I still want a hidden secret compartment somewhere in my house.
  17. This guy also has a bad rep in Germany. I'd suggest that you find a German comicbook compatriot and see if he can do some leg work for you... like in breaking....!
  18. I have never run across an MOC completionist..I agree one would have to be a real glutton for punishment to try and complete a run of these...but, what a great run it would be..!
  19. has anyone ever seen/owned a high grade unrestored copy of Barks' THE MUMMY'S RING ? Always see beaters or color touched issues.
  20. How come there have not been any Pedigreed UG collections? As we all know, a pedigree does not necessarily have to be a huge amount of comics, and they also do not have to all be NM. jest curious.
  21. These are called "Whitman NN" issues..for No Number... don't know why..maybe they were in pre-paks.. probably Mark Evanier would know...
  22. did these Whitman issues have numbers on the exterior cover?
