  1. Yes, you're right. The seller would be out the 3% fees. I made the mistake in thinking it was the buyer, which really wouldn't make any sense. Still sucks as a seller going forward. Sellers on ebay are already at a disadvantage as opposed to the buyers in terms of any disputes, and now they put this thing on the seller too!?
  2. It appears this new change won't be active until May 7th , but this is the thread I am referencing. If the buyer does demand a refund back before the date, than he would be fine.
  3. What about the new thing with PayPal now that they will keep their 3% instead of refunding it back to buyer. Would be a small loss.
  4. Yikes on label replacements! Quite a devious and ingenious thing to do.. I think part of this can be avoided IF the "To whom" and/or "From" (If a business that deals with high end stuff) can remain anonymous as to not broadcast exactly what might be inside the package. For example if you were to send the books to Metro, the address would read Metropolis Comics and Collectibles or something like that. Anyone who looks at that heading can figure out what exactly is inside the package. To me, it reads that there is something quite valuable inside. But if the heading were to be anonymous and just have MCC as an abbreviated form of the company name, than it would be less likely anyone would know what on earth is inside. Anyone can search up a business online and see exactly what that biz is all about. I dunno, just an idea, might help or not. But it seems like the people handling the packages in transit are getting wiser.
  5. Hey that's a great idea! I like it! It makes up for a character not introduced on the cover for the very first time, but might not be possible because it limits the amount of books that can be slabbed (that one issue) instead of a series of issues with that character on it. Also, I think CGC is limited to only a handful of custom labels they can produce. I don't see them making a custom label for every character, that would be nuts hehe.
  6. Quite rare I buy something outside of Superhero books. This just arrived today
  7. Damn, didn't know PP owns Venmo too! Well, looks like Google Wallet it is, cash, or going old school back to checks.
  8. Unless he won it himself I was thinking that too! He has the book in hand I presume so he can definitely see if the book is worth a press and a grade bump. If it is, then no question in my mind he would try and win it
  9. There has to be a super duper fast track option for pressing
  10. Yup that certainly is a beauty! I'm also liking the date stamp and the store stamp at the back. Gives it character and can trace its provenance! Well, if this book was shilled, than I'm pretty sure we will see this up for sale again soon.
  11. Or is it this? Same piece out top corner https://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=756395
  12. Yep fingers crossed for you too. Not sure if you saw the AF 15 book in this same category graded a cgc 4.0 due to the staining at the bottom of the book, but everything else about it looks higher grade. Looks similar to your copy.
  13. Ugh wish I knew about the Detective Comics #1000 multiple covers. Would've bought the Alex Ross version for $25 presale. Now they're selling for around $250+ on Ebay
  14. I'd leave as is. Can"t do anything about that stain. Likely grade the same.
  15. The pressing made the book a lot better visually, but the bottom pretty large stain that seems to have stained the entire section of the book will grade it down. CGC does not take too kindly with stains. I'm guessing 5.0 at best.
  16. I think the tiny top right corner crease that breaks color may be the deciding factor in that it will stay a 9.4. Without that I think a great shot at a 9.6. I'd leave as is as well.
  17. Sports cards are indeed soaring like comics depending on the player. Tom Brady rookie cards are all fetching record prices. A BGS 9 Mint 2000 Contenders rookie ticket fetched $400k. Baker mania has taken over with his national treasures RC commanding 4-5 figures. Of course desirable sealed wax boxes like the 2003 Exquisite basketball (Lebron's rookie year) are worth 5 figures. So yeah sports cards are similar to comics in a way.
  18. Alright guys.. Seems like everyone wants details on the book. Welll...... In the spirit of April Fools day I wanted to see how many I can fool . It was a perfect storm with WonderCon ending this past week, Batman's 80th anniversary, and April 1st hehe. But in truth, I had a chance to buy this book back in 2006, but passed. It's now in a restored holder, just dunno which restored copy it is with so many out there. Sorry fellas, had to do it.. Hopefully one day in my lifetime I can own a complete copy. Just hope the stars will align perfectly for me
  19. This thread needs a bump! Happy 80th Batman! It's fitting to post this holy grail this year. A WonderCon purchase. Epic!
  20. Congrats to both parties!! Wow what a huge sale! As I always say, better to jump the gun now or pay more later
