  1. Bats is great! Much like Spider-Man there's so much published that there's lots of top notch storytelling and a loooooooot of dreck. Both properties were overleveraged in the 90s to put it lightly but lots of top artists have been on the book over the years
  2. I have this book in 6.0 and your copy is much nicer, I'm not surprised
  3. Great seller, nice books, fast shipping, great packaging... what's not to like? Just needs to add a link to his Kudos thread to his profile then he'd be at 11/10
  4. Spidey SS 43 - 7.0 OW $1 Spidey SS 41 - 4.5 OW $1 The Man Thing 2 - 9.0 OWW $3
  5. Direct issues began to be distributed in the late 70's. The direct program began line-wide in the month that ASM #193 in June of '79. From ASM #165 to ASM #192 there was a "pilot" direct program where there were direct issues issued in 3 packs. These are referred to as Whitman variants but they were distributed at other chains as well. IMO... these directs are some of the rarest variants in ASM V1 and I've been trying to find high grade copies of the ASM #165 to #192 issues... very tough to track down, don't think I have any 9.8 candidates but I have a few NM- copies here and there. Mostly FN and below though. I normally keep that hunt pretty close to the vest I don't think many collectors are hip to these just yet E: The mail subscriptions started very, very, very early in the ASM run. I don't think I've seen single digit ASMs with subscription creases but I've definitely seen issues in the teens and 20's with sub creases

  7. I have shopped with Jimbo on a couple occasions. In each instance my books arrived in a timely fashion, packaged securely, and as pictured. Oh and the prices are great. I would happily shop his wares again and would not hesitate to recommend him to a fellow boardie
  8. Not sure if anyone knew this but these books used to ONLY be sold on newsstands! If you're a novice I get it but if you're a very seasoned collector like myself you know that newsstand issues are worth much more than direct copies - they just are - and this issue is a NEWSSTAND EXCLUSIVE! I think its value has been dramatically undersold for years, someday folks might realize that these issues - too - are collectible
  9. Jackal cloned Peter Parker and created Ben Reilly who will be at the helm of Amazing Spider-Man for... it looks like a pretty short run since there's a Ben Reilly Spider-Man #1 dropping in Q1 '22. But still, Jackal did that not Big Pun
  10. Jackal was more important before they retconned Norman Osborn to be the mastermind of the Clone Sage - the greatest retcon in Spider-Man history IMO - but he's still a significant villain in Spidey's gallery. In my estimation one of the top 5 villains since Stan Lee left the book So give it to me straight, gents
  11. I don't read a lot of DC but starting to see why people talk about this Bolland guy
