  1. I'm banking on the 5th printing being good down the road. Not many stores are picking them up I don't think-or just not many. After the series starts maturing, and the completists start trying to get all the printings, they will be looking hard to get 5th printings in HG due to them being reader copies for the most part. Some later printing kill the first print down the road. For instance:

    Hulk #377 3rd print

    MP #1 2nd print-sells for more than the 1st

Wolverine: Origins #28 2nd print-try finding one. When they appear on ebay I've seen them sell for 5-10x cover in the past.

    I agree with you.

    Don't forget Batman #608 (2nd) and #612 (2nd) as well.

WHAT ABOUT THOSE SPIDER-MAN SECOND PRINTS THAT SPELT OUT OMIT?!?!

amazing spider man 638 second print

Hmmm, wasn't aware of those. I think I'm gonna start a thread just for the collecting of 2nd and later prints. Since we are killing this NWM thread

  2. Some more that come to mind as well. Those Batmans are definitely legit. The last GL series before the New 52 had some winners as well.

GL #36 2nd print sketch-tanking right now kinda, but used to sell way better than 1st

    " #37 2nd print sketch-same

might be the time to hoard these maybe???

  4. I don't see The Strain comic going crazy if the novel is adapted into a movie, because the comic is an adaptation too, not the source material. Stranger things have happened, but it just doesn't seem like something that should carry a huge premium to me.

TV show on FX, not a movie. We'll see. I have the first two HC novels 1st/1st but in my experience, novels don't spike too much either after a movie is announced unless they were way obscure when released. This book was probably printed heavily due to Del Toro being a co-author.

Could be interesting with Carlton Cuse and Del Toro involved who both have other comic / manga adaptations on the boil. Not read The Strain yet... any thoughts? Will be checking it out later but it looks like FX has jumped in on this one.

First novel was awesome, second novel started getting slow for me so I never finished. The comic adapt. was ok so I dropped it after issue 2 I think. Is this blowing up on ebay now???

  6. I would pick up Rachel Rising at cover. Don't want to miss your chance at the next hot thing. Not saying it will reach SG or PP status but a forty dollar investment that could easily double.

Sounds good. I would like to read them anyway. The majority people here seem to like it.

Read 1-12 within the past week.

    Simply awesome!

I was able to get 1-15 raw and am definitely in for the ride.

Also bought Echo and think I'm going to read that next.

You will love Echo too. Theres a new book waiting to be discovered around every corner these days. Its a great time to be a reader!

It truly is and RR is awesome. I have yet to read the second trade. Will be looking to finish filling in the gaps on my floppies sometime as well.

  7. I just read 1 and 2. I'm not going to say I didn't enjoy it, but I'm kind of lost due tot he back and forth nature of the story. The little kid horsemen and the white adult horsemen storyline has me a little lost as I said. I guess I'll wait and see in a couple of issues if they flesh it out a bit better for me.
