I was wondering is there a general accepted date or issue for the first silver age appearance of Batman and Superman?

I have decided that I want to collect both Brave and the Bold as well as Showcase at the same time, grade doesn't matter as I figure I can upgrade later.

Just like the title says, am I crazy for attempting this?

December 1996 - The Winnipeg Collection

Summer of 1997 - Two unnamed Collections

Fall of 1997 - The Golden State Collection

Would those two summer buys have any sort of name or did he just sell them with no name or anything?
