  1. Grading a card depends on what you are intending to do with said card. If you like the cards and want to grade them go ahead! I have graded $5 cards just because I wanted them to be in the slab to match the rest of my collection of CGC items. If you are looking to grade these cards with the intention of selling them, these wouldn't really fetch a high amount of money. I would recommend reviewing these cards on ebay and searching for them graded via CGC because then you can compare and contrast what you think the grade of the card will get based on what previous same cards have gotten. This will not only give you an estimate of grade but also an estimate of price point.

  2. Hi all,

I currently have 50 cards I want to submit to meet the minimum requirement of submitting a bulk submission. However, 20 of the 50 cards are error cards. I see that CGC is separating out the errors from the non-errors and thus creating two submissions. I am assuming that this therefore means I now have 2 separate "bulk submissions" for which I would have to pay separate shipping and handling fees for. However, am I allowed to only submit the 20 error cards by themselves and then the 30 regular cards by themselves? I don't have 50 error cards to submit to meet the minimum requirement nor do I have 20 additional regular cards to add to the 30 regular cards I was already intended to send in. Does CGC allow for this to still be sent in because it is technically still a total of 50? Also, if these are considered two separate shipments, does this mean I have to personally ship them separately to CGC as well? Or, do I just pay the extra shipping for having them returned to me?

Any perspective on this would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

  3. Hi everyone,

I am very excited that I just received my bulk submission from 12/17 today! However, in counting the cards upon opening the box, I realized I was one short. In reviewing the packing slip the card is listed there, the card is even listed on my online order file in my "my submissions" section, however, the card does not have a grade (or sub grades) like the rest of the cards do. The cert numbers also show that it is missing, meaning, that the card before it is XXXXXXXX10 and the card after it is XXXXXXXX12. So it received a cert number but was not graded.  Anyone have this happen to them? I'm asking here before calling customer service to see if anyone has experienced it before so I may have some context.

Thank you for reading and responding!

    From PaulS. earlier:

There will be no extension. We gave a week notice, which we did not have to do. Submissions should be submitted before midnight tonight

Heavily disappointed. It is clear by this statement and recent actions that their values have changed and that they have allowed their recent hype to overcome them, leading them to forget about the importance of customer service. It's a shame because I was really rooting for CGC.

  5. What honestly blows my mind is that today they put out news on their official website about something unrelated to these issues and also as we speak their Instagram is reposting stories of people's returned submissions but yet no communications have been made addressing the various tech issues that are occurring. Like are they just ignoring it at this point?

I def understood, cgc should go ahead and make a update and let ppl know ahead of time. They should always be able to give some slack since they raised tats over and over

Yeah you're on the same page as me. Update for me that is good news for you: just received notice that cards went from Received to Scheduled for Grading and all cards are now listed in the system so assuming that they all "passed".

  7. I think some folks are missing the focus of my question. My cards are already submitted and have been sitting in received for the past 4 months. In these past 4 months Pokemon cards have significantly fluctuated in value: some surpassing the bulk pricing of $99 raw. My concern is I don't want to get upcharged for these cards since they've been sitting at CGC for 4 months. I would hop

I asked this same question a while back and got no response and feel it should be given a break because they slowed down the bulk speed on tats. I have cards from evolutions that wasn't that expensive until they came out saying its out of print and blew up in price. They should give a pass on that at least since they waited too.long

My thinking is the same as yours: I would hope that they wouldn't upcharge and as a result of waiting several more months that they would acknowledge that these were cards that fit within this tier and all is well. I just wanted to see of any other people had any different experiences.

  8. Hi all,

I have a bulk submission that was submitted on 12/17 with no progress and was wondering if my declared value for the cards at the time is "grandfathered in". Example: I have a Ultra Prism Lillie that at that time was only going for 60 but now clearly going for 250+. Since it hasn't been graded yet do they go by the value of card once it begins to be graded or is it the value based on time stamp of having been received by CGC? Thank you all in advance.

  9. I am in a similar boat: I have a submission sitting still in Received from 12/17 and hasn't had any movement.  I honestly wasn't expecting it to move anytime soon so I am glad to hear from Paul that early December is being worked on.

Additionally, I think it's worth while noting that on average estimated turnarounds have been increasing by 5-7 days every 1.5- weeks.  The turnaround time for bulk is now 77 days which just a few days ago was only 70 and about 2 weeks before that was 60. It's clear that they are getting jampacked, which is somewhat understandable.

  10. Hello everyone,

Many of you have probably received the recent email regarding the increase in prices for grading cards. I was wondering if a mod/admin could provide context to the following:

    1) The email introduces the new prices by stating "Along with this change" (in reference to the Feb. 16th date for new charging procedures). I would assume that this means that new prices also start on February 16th? Or is this new increase in prices effective immediately?  Or is there a new date?

    2) Whatever the date is that is clarified, does this mean that orders have to be placed before that date in order to qualify for the older pricing or do you? Or is it that you CGC has to receive the cards prior to that date? Or is it that cards have to be in the status of prepped for grading prior to that date?

Thank you in advance for clarifying these questions

  11. Hi Ron,

Thanks for responding! So I logged back in and out and it didn't do anything. However, going through this made me remember that the cards I had in my cart where placed there when I was a non-member.  So I removed those cards from my cart and went back to the submission page to start submitting them over again and it now gives me access to submit to headquarters.  It's as if the fact that the cards were put there when I was not a member had a code on them that made it seem as if I was still a non-member.  Thank you for guiding me into the right pathway for thinking about how to resolve my issue, I appreciate you!

    Happy hunting and grading!

  12. Hi everyone, I have just purchased a premium membership for CGC and when I go to start my submission the option to mail to headquarters is currently "grayed out" and the only option that is clickable/colored/with a check mark is the "Show" option.  It does not let me click on the Mail-In to Headquarters block.  Is this just a glitch or is CGC not accepting any submissions to headquarters at this time? Or, am I doing something wrong?1501403926_GreyCGC.thumb.png.b09ac47ae119cf22b973fcd9a67e03e8.png
