  1. I think I figured this out. Everyone is caught up in partial ownership of comics, but what about partial ownership of other peoples partial ownership??

Think about it.. instead of spending money with Rally Rd, you can spend money with a company that instead buys shares from the other micro investors! The logic is clear! Don't think about it too much!

I've even come up with a catchy name for it: "Microscopic Ownership of Really Old Nostalgia & Such"

I think the acronym might catch on.

Well, I mean, Spider-Man wasn't Venom when he had the "Venom" symbiote. So, it would make sense that Green Goblin isn't Carnage with the "Carnage" symbiote.

I think that this argument makes more sense that the symbiotes, themselves, have names. Right?

Peter did have conflict with the suit trying to push him to do things he didnt want to. One could view this as the suit trying to impose his will on Peter to "make" him Venom. Peter was able to resist, therefore he didn't "become" Venom. Eddie offered no such resistance as they were joined in their mutual hatred of Peter, so he pretty much immediately "became" Venom.

Look at it from another view: Eddie could never, in any theory, be Venom without the symbiote.

The symbiote could theoretically be Venom without Eddie.

That sounds familiar. I wasn't aware that it was the same symbiote that creates "Carnage".

    I guess I don't know jack-s^&* about the symbiotes.

He also used his formula for that if I recall correctly, so it was modified symbiote, not raw "virgin" symbiote.

I can't exactly recall, but I think he first introduces himself with, "We are Venom."

I always considered the combination of the two making the individual known as Venom. The suit changed with the bonding just as Brock did (albeit Brock's change was a bit more dramatic).

This could easily be the way all symbiotes refer to themselves when bonded with a host. It doesn't necessarily mean the identity is lost when the host is removed. Theoretically.

Yes, it is a sentient being, as revealed in ASM 258. But, by itself, it is still not Venom.

I agree this is the accepted definition of Venom, but I think the argument can be made that Venom is indeed solely the suit, and that the suit tried to turn Peter into "Venom" but Peter resisted the suit and was able to get rid of it before being fully transformed.

Eddie offered no resistance and was easily transformed into the base dominant personality of the suit, which is Venom, imo.

Venom is the combination of Eddie Brock and the alien symbiote Spider-Man acquired during the Secret Wars. Spider-Man was never Venom.

Agreed Peter was never Venom BUT the suit DID exhibit it's own behavior and personality traits while Peter was wearing it, separate from Peter, giving the suit it's own identity.

I guess I was kind of spoiled by my old shop, where from 1984 to 1998 I usually got 20% or more off cover prices.

Both my shops here around the Flint area offer discounts. One is a yearly club (10% off new plus the wall) but they only sell $25 memberships twice a year, the other has a permanent discount based on what you spend, 20% off for $75 and up, and it works on new comics, but not the wall.

Why hasn't MP #94 caught fire? It's Mile's true first appearance in print if we're using preview books as key books (it shows a gallery of all the UF4 variant 1:25 variant covers - a more iconic image of Miles IMO). #95 is just his first COVER in print. Neither are his first appearance in COMIC BOOKS.

If this does take off (as Ebay listings appear to be testing) then is the market going to crash on preview 95?
