  1. I really think CGC just made a mistake with what numbers they chose for the grades. People just hate the number 9.5. I think the normal scale is 1 - 9.5 (Gem Mint). There are special cases for more pristine cards which are the 10's (somewhat like a black label). IDK if they should change it some Gem Mint is 10 and then the Pristine and Perfects get a new label. But the sooner the better I think.

  2. So now Im wondering how often the pop report is updated. Because now that we have that, Those 40-50 are not in the Pop Report (yet). I've been scouring the Pop report and everyones claim of a mess ton of 10's doesn't seem to match up with whats in there. Can someone point me in the direction in the Pop Report where all these 10s are?? So it's either a placebo effect or people are lying.

As for regrading 9.5's in hopes of 10s. I think that can be a good option if you have the money for it. Since its all still human eyes at the end of the day, may get lucky. I haven't tried cross grading any Pokemon cards so I have no idea the relation between the two.

No. It has been hosted here at CGC COMICS. They still need some kinks worked out. Because when I'm on the tcg site and click the message boards, it brings me back to the comics website and when I click the CGC logo to go back to the homepage, it sends me to the cgccomic site.

Ah I've been going to cgccards this whole time and it redirected me to cgccomics lol. So I didn't realize. I thought a new launch meant a redesign. Gotcha

  4. Is it the number that gets under everyones skin?? I wonder if it would be better if Gem Mint was was 10 on CGC as well instead of 9.5.

That might be CGC's main downfall it seems. Wonder if that will change in the future 🤔

I know its sarcasm, and you joke - but honestly I feel you on this...to an extent.

I really dont like the 'fake' part of not getting a 10. They clearly gatekeep, and I'll give you an exact example:

100 charizard illustrators sent to PSA: 79 10's
200 charizard illustrators sent to CGC: 0 10's

You're telling me...not ONE...ONE japanese promo that is NON-HOLO was a 10? They all just magically hit the 9.5 mark? It's just BS. The 10 gate-keeping needs to stop. I'm fine with it being 'hard' to get a 10, I feel PSA throws out 10's when they shouldnt...but dont falsify the grades to make your 10 rare.

    Just my 2 cents.

Do you have the numbers for how many BGS 10's of that card were graded in that time period ??

  5. So started working on a scraping solution. Does anyone know the science behind the the Cert numbers?? I think it would be helpful on how they come up with these Cert numbers. It doesn't seem to just be in order. Also CGC blocks you from the Verify page after a few searches. So compiling all the data would take fooooooorever without using a Proxy server that changes every so amount of searches :/

Here is a question for you all:  How many of you have the willpower to not look at your grades until they arrive in your hands?  I want to be surprised when they come in, but not sure if I will be able to. Any advice?

I always check lol. No reason to wait, I'm not making content lol

CGC just posted this today stating they are starting to accept tcg from Digimon, dragon ball super, final fantasy and more. At the end of the article they say they are having issues getting the slabs needed to grade yugioh cards at this time and that's what is holding them back from opening submissions for yugioh.

They are willing to start grading other TCGs but cant supply a population report yet for Pokemon.... makes sense I guess

Crazy eh. I dont think they are linked though. CGC's Engineering team may just be really bad, because they definitely have all the data. Just need to make a frontend for it. Unrelated to the Grading team

Definitely going to attempt that scraping tool I spoke about months ago that I forgot about 😅

It took almost 3 months to get back my 1 slab with a labeling error....

Oh I was referring to the email response time, not the process itself. No clue how long that will take. I did send a Mew back once to be reholdered (Dropped and cracked it on my part, so I paid FYI) and it took about 3 weeks. IDK what kind of time table mechanical errors follow, hopefully the reholder turn around time O_O

  9. UPDATE (10/13/21): FYI to anyone who has this same issue, spoke with CGC folks and they directed me to use the new Mechanical Error submission on the new form. So just send them back that way instead of waiting a day or two for CGC to get back to you. Link Here

So I've finally had a submission returned with almost every card being scuffed up. At first I thought it was just dust, but after wiping it down it is indeed a scuff on the case itself. I remember forum members bringing this up months ago and this still seems to be an issue. @PaulS., is there a plan in the works for updating the packaging because this is really unacceptable especially after all this time.

This is the packaging. How is this supposed to stop the cards from rattling around?? What about if styrofoam is too expensive or not eco friendly, that CGC places them in sleeves since the issue doesn't seem to be cracking but scuffing.

Here are some of the damaged cases. The Steelix is after I cleaned the case. The other are before wiping it down.
