  1. To address what I was referring to as inconsistent 8.5s here are two cards. Raichu has a few horizontal factory scratches. Large diagonal scratch is on case. Clean edges, corners. vs Both graded 8.5. Not sure why it's trying to upload picture of Raichu multiple times.
  2. The level of consistency within the 8.5 range it what gets me. I don't disagree with every 8.5 I received. Some of them, the nick on the corner is too large to be a 9, or some of them have a print line that would knock it to an 8.5 or w/e, you get the idea. Then you get to the next 8.5 that's no scratching on foil, no print lines, no edge wear, no chips on corner etc, and just leaves me scratching my head. A few that are financially viable test subjects, I'm going to crack and resub elsewhere even if it's at a break even point with a 9 over an 8.5. I'm curious for one thing, but also, I don't want to sell so many 8.5s at dirt prices if I can hold and resub down the line and get more. Sending them off today, so hopefully in a few weeks I'll have an idea on how to proceed forward. I also don't like having to hook up my air compressor and blow gun to get all this paper trash off the slabs either. Rather annoying.
  3. Bruh @PokemanDude90 they wildin out with these 8.5s
  4. They've pulled off another shafting. How shocking. Didn't make sense that they didn't to begin with other than trying to weasel a few for bucks out of everyone for subs or a re-sub fee with subs. You should check out the comics area if you don't already. This place is turning into a monkey mess fight. Looks like even there long term customers ready to dip. TAT higher than giraffe , QC is dog, they keep raising prices on everything, stupid mess like this with the grade changes to 10s.
  5. They giving subs for free on perfect 10s now? Before you only got Perfect if you bought subs, and a Pristine otherwise correct?
  6. By high grade I took that as 9, 9.5, 10 not specifically a 10. As few as CGC gives out, it might be similar to a black label from BGS and get more money. Hard to compare as there aren't many CGC 10s sold and the ones that I've seen mostly say best offer accepted so don't know the actual sell price. PSA 10 gets more than the equivalent 9.5 CGC, and BGS. Stands to reason a perfect/pristine 10 would pull more but a lot of it probably depends on the card itself as well and how highly sought after it would be. He should probably check this thread or card section. I would consider 8.5-9 still higher end of graded cards but it'll highlight some of the discrepancies with what's an 8.5 if he's considering getting cards graded. Last sub should be delivered today and I'll use some of those to highlight the issue. https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/501254-biggest-crossgrade-test-against-all-other-grading-companies-look-here-before-you-cross-grade/
  7. No dice on that one. PSA for Pokemon, and probably still BGS for MTG. I don't deal in MTG cards so haven't kept up, but they were the preferred by a long shot at one point. If you look for listings the vast majority are BGS graded compared to PSA. PSA still way over CGC, looking at base set Charizards in a 9 PSA doing around $1k-1.1. CGC 9 sold for $875 or lower on offer.
  8. I wish there was a more detailed list to grading standards. Some things that I would think would be a 9. Mint being pack fresh with a speck or two of whitening on the corners maybe the most tiny of foil scratches from the cards rubbing each other. See some that I feel like should be 9s, get an 8.5, then on the flip I see others that I would think would be an 8 get an 8.5. side by side the difference is too big eye appeal wise for them to both be 8.5s imo. I'm assuming it's a scenario in which you might have like 9 center, 9 surface, 9 corners, 7.5 edges and it gets that +1 bump compared to a card that's 2 9s, 2 8.5s. So you end up with some that look really good, only a hair away from mint, and some with some pretty obvious defects.
  9. It's been so long since I sent them in I can't remember which card had what. Like I said, lowest I've gotten on surface was a 5 and it was creased 🤔 the +1 bump to and overall 6 was everything else was at least 1 higher. Even if this one had a binder crease not sure how it would total out to a 5 when everything else is that clean.
  10. Grades finally posted. Everything I thought might get a 9 was 8.5. check this one though. Have to look it over again in hand, but didn't think anything I sent in was in the 5 range. Worst card I sent in before was a Dark card with a crease and it was a 6. Can't upload front for some reason. 3857638088
  11. This is the last of my orders still in their possession. Just need it to ship 🤣 still hasn't shipped as of right now so maybe within the next few weeks.
  12. Somewhat strange that they are working today 🤔
  13. They sent me an invoice that I need to pay some I'm assuming that's where it got the accounting hold. Email was on the 20th I believe at like 11:30 at night. I called the 21st to pay, couldn't get anyone in accounting. Same on 22nd so I used the CS extension and they sent an email to accounting to charge card. Morning of 23rd I'm billed and it moved to shipping apparently. Called CS back this morning, same woman I believe that sent the email to accounting last week. Told me it still had accounting hold, so she had to call them to remove it while I was on hold.
  14. There was still an accounting hold on my order even though I paid the beginning of last week 🤦‍♂️
  15. I guess I'll have to call them again. Mine haven't been marked as shipped which I find highly suspicious. 4+ days seems like an awfully long time for it to sit in outbound.
  16. They told me mine went to shipping on 12/23 but still haven't made it out. What date was yours?
  17. I called CS extension instead and they sent an email to accounting for me. Last week I called accounting probably 10-12 times at different points of the day over two days and no one ever answered. Sounds like he can't get anyone, so suggesting email will be easier for him.
  18. Email them, I called for two days and could never get anyone.
  19. Same, should be any day now. Even if something in this order is mislabeled or f'd up I don't care. Not sending it back 🤣. Not worth the price of my freedom from this company. I did get a decent batch of 9's one sub, got some 8.5s I think should've been 8's and some 8.5's I think should've been 9's. It's never going to be perfect. Does seem a little suspect getting that many cards with exact subs in a row though. Curious to see how these team rocket cards grade if ever shipped though.
  20. I wouldn't attempt that in reverse seeing as those are all older sub numbers starting with 4. Last PSA sub I had come back a few weeks ago were absolutely brutal. I wouldn't cross from CGC to PSA even if it's a 9.5 or 10. They're just arbitrarily handing out grades to keep their pop report under control right now. You could probably send a CGC Perfect 10 in and get back a PSA 8.
  21. BULK 126 no-subs Delivered: 4/2 Received: 6/11 Grading/QC: Around 12/17 Invoiced :12/20, Paid 12/22. Shipped: TBD. Probably next year. Real f***ing considerate to invoice me right before Christmas on an order that won't get shipped for God knows how long due to the holidays.
  22. I just paid an order that been there since April 2nd. If I would've known it wasn't going to get shipped due to backlog I wouldn't have paid yet. At least I wasn't billed 2 1/2 months before the order shipped like last time, I just left my balance low so it would decline until the order was near shipping. Really gets me heated that they charge before stuff is ready to go out the door.
  23. I wonder if it's an issue with manpower being able to encapsulate them, or supply chain for slabs. Mine always seem to ship on the current turn around time(not what TAT was when subbed) so I think they're reflective of what's going out the door that day. If turnaround is 180 days, the ones going out the door were received 180 days ago, not predictive of if you send it in today it will take 180 days. I could be wrong though. Just coincidentally always seem to line up with the most recent turnaround.
