  1. I always bring my tape measure as I have a height issue for the spot I had to put it. I had a problem getting it into the basement also because I have a landing that turns and then goes down. After two failed attempts, I had to unstrap it from the dolly and lay it down. Restrap it and take it down upside down as the base was to wide to clear the stair trim rails. I should have just called up Returner ( Matt ) and had him carry it down for me with one arm.
  2. Picked this up at an estate sale a few weeks ago. I've been looking for one. Solid oak all the way around with beveled glass. Four hinged doors, two on each side. Not a scratch or a nick on it. I removed all the glass and doors and cleaned everything and polished the oak. Even has a light. $100.00 bucks out the door. I collect die-cast construction machines also and they fit in it perfect.
  3. I can see the point of paypal, but I've always taken checks or money orders. I've used them buying also, but I know who I'm dealing with. Never had a problem, but that's just me.
  4. KEEPERS! Especially the AA #1! Yes they are. Into the vault of no return.
  5. Just back today from CGC. I may have a few cold ones to celebrate. Pic's are a little fuzzy and don't show the nice color on these. And my purchase from Wizard Chicago. Book has really nice yellows and reds on the cover.
  6. If sellers are so worried about 3% on a book why not just ask for a personal check or a money order? So you have to wait a little bit, big deal.
  7. I have a nice #62 at CGC right now that should be back shortly. It should be around 8.0 but I have a suspicion about the top edge. I hope I'm wrong.
  8. I'm speechless, what a great haul. That #62 is the teets.
  9. Yes it is. I'm starting to work on that run myself.
  10. That's a tough book in higher grade.
  11. I was always opposed to this idea Mike, but more and more it makes sense to me. Will it stop someone who's willing to make a bunch of posts or wait the required time? Perhaps not ,but it would allow us to get a cut of their jib and it would give them an opportunity to learn about this place and perhaps learn the rules and culture. Spot on. + 3. Unfortunately I don't think it will stop anyone determined to trick people. Just means they have to be polite till they qualify. Butt some just can't act polite for long. Exactly, and with the board detectives we have on here, its a good chance they'll slip up before they take someone for another ride.
  12. Might as well do the centerfold also, why limit yourself.
  13. I just tried to read the last few pages of this thread and I think I've come down with " scrolling eye syndrome".
  14. Right, you're assuming. Put your policies right up front in the sales thread, that's it. If someone just happens not to fully read the invoice, and they already hit the 'I'll take it", then its going to be a problem on both ends. And selling books " as is ", won't get you many customers, including me. Good luck at getting this resolved. (thumbs u
  15. I have no ax to grind with anyone here but if your going to run sales threads on these boards and build a reputation, do it the right way. Your selling policies and rules should be stated up front and clear as far as refunds. Any seller on here that's reputable offers a full refund regardless, it just isnt worth the nonsense and its the way to do business on here. Second, many of us do not supply B.C. scans on the lower value books but offer scans up front if they are requested. Save yourself some headaches in the the future and tweak your sale rules up front. Also, I know if I was buying a $50.00 book I would not want a range of VF - NM provided. That's just too broad of a range and someones going to not be satisfiesd. If they're thinking it could be a NM book and they get a VF book you got problems. Just my
  16. The seller states in the sales thread, " All books appear to be in VF-Nm condition (images are for people to see and grade the books for themselves) Kind of tough with no back cover scan. Second, why would you tell the buyer a different grade from what you advertised? Regardless, this should have been resolved between the two of you. Most of us offer full refunds on anything we sale on here, period. That's exactly why I asked about the grade before purchase. No picture of the back and VF-NM to me is a huge range. I wanted to make sure it was in a grade I could live with. It's obvious he still doesn't want to work this out. I'm not following this. Your right about VF - NM being a huge range. That's an o.k. way to grade if your selling dollar books or low grade stuff. But if no B.C. scan was provided and you weren't sure of the grade, why did you buy it? Did you ask the seller about his refund policy before your purchase. These are all things to look for in a sellers sales thread before purchasing. Not that it would solve this problem now, but to avoid problems with later purchases regardless of where.
