PANEL PAGE ART — UNPARALLELED WORKS OF COMIC ART.
WE DO MORE THAN JUST SELL ART.
Years ago, Glen Brunswick, owner of PANEL PAGE ART, met a prestigious art dealer that had a Madison Avenue gallery. He asked the dealer how he could tell if a piece of art was good or not. The dealer said he based his opinion on a gut feeling. He had to love the art he represented at least a little bit. It's this philosophy that goes into every piece of art we buy and sell. We consider ourselves curators of comic art collections.

As to the price, if this were a Romita cover it would be double the price.
But…it’s not a Romita cover. -

Really surprised by this as this sale is coming after Neal's passing.
Prices for Adams art in the last Signature auction, soon after the news broke, were very strong.
Bechara has stated numerous times over the years that comic art only goes up. So there may be some basis for a class auction lawsuit here.

I've noticed the stream of Terry strips and the wide range of prices. is it known where they are coming from, is it the collection of some long time Terry collector being liquidated?
I'm more curious who's bidding on all of them.
But to answer your question, I believe they are coming from the Bobby G. Murphy Collection.

This must be the most board chatter ever about Sparling. So here's my small collection of 3 pieces, including one of his grey-tone covers to Unexpected #133. Also the cover to Secret Six #4 and a Clair Voyant strip from 1948. I probably have more money sunk into Sparling than most collectors. But buy what you like and you can't go wrong...and I really, really like all of these!

There is nothing to improve. I have no plans to sell, and to my eyes, the piece was a bargain whether the market agrees or not.
When I posted it in April, 2021, it got 8 likes. So, I guess the market is bigger than 4 people for the right Sparling stuff. 🙂So approximately $87.50 per “like” on CAF. Seems high. Maybe try posting in one of those art groups on The Facebook to bring down your price-per-like ratio.

You confused me there for a few minutes. I spent $600 on one of his “Pin-up Pete” bits of cheesecake from the Korean War era, and I would happily do it again (there have been others for sale). But, it wasn’t from ComicLink. So yes, I do own one, but not what I was looking for.
It was probably shill bid too, right? Because like, everything is.

At one point she was behind the table taking some photos of some expensive pieces hanging and speaking to one of the men with her (who remained on the other side of the booth).. Language definitely not Italian.
I believe they were speaking Latverian.

Glen's had that on his website since Aug. 21, so I guess you didn't see? It will probably be at Will's table next NJ con for $100,000 more, so if you're interested, you should buy it now. And the "winning the internet" phrase should have died several years ago. Kudos to the collector who took the video.
