Weird Tales, Aug 1934
Brundage cover on the Howard Conan story "The Devil in Iron"
One of my two favorite Brundage covers (along with Magic Carpet, Oct 1933), so I just buy every nice copy I can find.

I bought most of them about 7 years ago. I always liked the comic and thought it would be a good book to invest in.

That's too bad about the popped staple. I have certainly been there!

Thanks for the info! Based on the last sale, I guess I didn't do too badly. I will join the DD #1 club once it hits my hands.

I just bought the CLink DD #1 in 9.0. I was thinking about going for the 9.4, but didn't think it looked any better than the one I got. Now that it is done....does anybody have the GPA for 9.0? I am sure I paid too much, but I don't plan on selling later to make money.
Thanks!

Which REH story is in there? I love his horror stuff.

nice Joe Doolin illo
This pulp is beyond cool!
Very nice of REH to give the lead writing credit to his buddy Tevis. I read that REH wrote the whole thing and Tevis may have done some "research". The conclusion was that REH wanted to give his friend an opening to submit some of his own stories.

No known copy at the moment, but there was at least one set of tear sheets from "The Shadow Kingdom" autographed by REH that was in circulation in the 1960s or 70s.

Popped into my head...I was wondering if anyone knows of a signed copy of a REH pulp?
I know he died in 1936 before eternal fame, but surely someone was eager enough to have him sign their Weird Tales???
His signature is well known from his masses of correspondence right?

"Seems to me I read that he'd been murdered. His brother came on the board and made a few posts. Sorry, can't remember where".
I was just informed of this...that is incredibly horrible.
I don't need the money back, so will not try to work with his brother in this terrible time. Please pass on my condolences.

Sad news, i'm just going to delete this.

Completely wonderful transactions.
Thanks for all the business. (thumbs u

Check out the Marvel Spotlight #5 in Dark Knight's sales thread right now in the for sale section. I count 7 color break spine dings on a CGC 9.2. If that book is a 9.2, I am vastly undergrading my comics.
Thoughts?

I graded and shipped these comics with complete professionalism...
Oh yea, and Greg was nice enough to buy them from me and pay quickly.
Thanks!

He bought some stuff, then he bought more stuff cause I made him a great deal. Then he paid.
SWEET!!!!!
Thanks.

I dont recall this list but dont see how spider-man could be #5. Surely heroes like Sasquatch, Colossus and Hercules are stronger than Spider-man.Sorry if someone mentioned this already, but Marvel actually listed the top 10 of their heroes in pure strength in a comic in the late 1980's I believe. The #1 character was Wonder Man.
I think it went:
1. Wonder Man
2. Hulk
3. Thing
4. ??
5. Spider-Man
Does anyone else remember that list? I wish I could recall the issue it was in....
Yea I know, but the freaking list was from Marvel. They did it, not me. Now somebody has to find that frackin list!

What would I be had I not played D&D and found Conan in 1979?
I shudder at the thought.

This is my big win! I overshot my budget for the entire auction on this one book, but it is one of my favorite WWII covers.
