  1. Kudos to TupennyConan for a fantastic set of well, what else...Conan books. Packed well and shipped extremely quick. Thanks Bill.

    Couple of overdue Kudos to

Bigfiver69 for a few great OAAW books and a GI Combat book (I think, it has been a while) Thanks Shep.

Arexcrooke for a beautiful OAAW book. Thanks Arex.

MacMan for quick payment (sort of lol ) and for being one of the good guys around here. Thanks Forrest.

  2. Apparently people are selling to Oldman by PM. I'd like to say for the record that anyone who knowingly sells something to a person on the probation list is a colossal person_who_is_obnoxiously_self-impressed, and should toss themselves off the nearest high object. Have a nice day.

I never get too involved with a lot of the discussions around here, but on this one I 100% agree.

  3. You people are going to put me in the poor house. I am really, really trying not to go after OFF books and SSWS books but I keep seeing the fantastic books in these threads and it is driving me nuts. Anybody know how to put a thread on ignore.

    :jokealert: sort of...

  4. I can agree on ASM 2. I was happy to buy a really nice GD+ copy from Paul (who bought it from Jason who bought it from Collin... :) ), but the Flying Geriatric was never high on my list of villains.

I know there's not much Vulture love in these parts....but as I've told piper, I still have a soft spot for ASM #7 (2nd app. Vulture). One of my favorite early stories, that really goes a long way towards developing Spidey's personality and what made the series so special. The fight in the Daily Bugle (back before such fights became a cliche) is great fun. A neat early issue.

I am not fond of the Vulture either but that cover is one of my favorite covers. :cloud9:

  5. Just got these.....

    Thats a nice looking cover!

Except why aren't the swastikas reversed in the reflection?

    Jack

Ah, good eye, Jack. That's because these particular missionaries are sporting the religious symbol that is often misinterpreted as the swastika. They obviously mean the US Navy frogman no harm.

    Andy

Ahhhhh...but of course. They have no weapons and they are swimming at him with open arms. lol

  6. A huge thanks to Brent at Qualitycomix for putting this key into my collection. Been looking for a solid and affordable copy for a while. Despite the evident wear, the colour on the cover is just fantastic.

    Tada!

Awesome pick-up Shep. It is a beauty. The colors are amazing.

  7. It's a pizza. Pick it up and eat it anyway. It's not like it fell out of the box or the guy bled on it.

I remember helping my sister move once. It was late at night, we had loaded up the truck with everything, and we were exhausted sitting on the floor of a now-empty apartment. We had put a frozen pizza in the oven, which was the last item in the house. When I took it out, I promptly dropped it cheese-side down on the floor. It was a sad time. But I did end up eating some of the crust that was face up.

Oops, was that a personal story? doh!

Yes. Yes it was. Now tell the truth. You didn't eat just the crust did you? DID YOU???
