Wonderful group shot, Dan! You've got all the toughest issues, and that's quite an achievement. Congrats!
I have a bit of experience with the Zip run.I'd agree that all the war covers are tough, with the exception of 31.It's easily the most common of the later Zips. As far as most difficult, I believe that 26 & 34 are the toughest to track down. I rarely see 22,but I don't think it's rare,it's just too damn cool and no one wants to sell!

Thanks Steve. The 18 is my favorite as well.

Gino, Andrew, David, BB, all 'ZIPity do da' books (ba da bum!)
Shared this somewhere on the boards before, but one of my favorite covers. I like all the 'Rattler' covers(though i hate snakes)! I only need Zip 18 to complete all the four covers he appeared on (Zip's 13,14, 18 & Jackpot 3). Mouth breathing fire and carrying a double syringe! Badass!!
Gorgeous 2.5 you have there!
I've got three of the four "Rattler" covers. Like to get the Jackpot at some point.

Yeah, this thread is insane lately.
How 'bout I throw in one of these bad boys?
Love that funny book!
I wonder what a high grade copy would fetch at auction?

Thanks Steve. A local shop got a few original owner books in,and this was one of them. I knew it was one of the tougher Peps,so I was thrilled to get it.Unfortunately it was the only MLJ in the batch. And yes, unrestored.

And on that note ... here's to a lovely day of MLJ!
I appreciate your enthusiasm, it's contagious... and the day isn't over yet!
Larson:
Beautiful Larson!

I want to be a member of this club! The "Detective 38" for the Shield and Pep Comics, a very tough book (especially in grade) - this copy is pedigree quality:Holy C--! That is an insane copy. I went to pull mine out and it actually took me a second to confirm I was holding my 11. The colors on yours and the colors on mine are no where near one another!
I always thought I had a nice looking copy ... not so much anymore.
Cool book of course sir!
Here's my offering to join the club. Can't top Steve's killer copy, but I love it just the same.

A trifecta of orange Fox books.Very nice!

Great stuff Jon. You were so prescient to pick up those books and recreations when you did.
Thanks Richard---it was a challenge and a hoot to find the artist, convince the artist to do the cover. Mooney liked doing them and Tuska also, Flessel.
I had failures too, like trying to get Eisner to do Wonder Comics 1 (that is a whole different story).
I feel lucky enough that I was able to obtain what I did. About 60% or so of my recreations were commissioned directly by myself
Here is a link to many of them....
I followed that link and wow!! Thanks so much for posting it,Jon. Just incredible stuff. Murphy Anderson doing Fine..hard to top..but then the Mooney Super Mystery, Flessel Detectives,LB Cole Mask, even a Zolnerowich Planet! Did I mention the gorgeous Joe Simon Wonderwrold 13...
