Wow! Nice #3's everyone!

Spectacular run of Planets so far Flex!

Right, the competition for many MLJs has sure heated up. I'm constantly amazed at what some of the Peps go for.

Thanks. I love the cover too. Remember Pearl Harbor!

Another copy
Hoarder.

Definitely on a roll
Yeah, the purple label dims its shine a bit (CGC 8.5 MP) but it will have to do until I manage a Blue.
[ 1 9.2®, 1 9.0, 1 8.5 & 3 8.5®, 1 8.0® ]
Will post a better scan when I have it in hand.
Congrats,it's a gorgeous book, resto or not. I've always liked the cover with Bats punching the baddie off the girder to his death.Reminds me of the solo Bat.

Pons will be so surprised. What's next, high grade Action 116?

LOOK OUT BELOW!!!!!! I hope there is room in the MLJ POOL because I am diving in with the this low grade beauty!!!
As I stated earlier I really started appreciating these early Pep covers so I went out and bought me one
Yeah Yeah its not Pep #32 but what gives? Did they seriously not think we would catch this 70 years later
Every bit as cool as the Pep 32 for way less loot. Congrats Gino!

Here's my copy. I had to go purple to get a nice looking one.Not that I mind,I actually like restored comics.
Mid to high grade blue labels are out of reach for me,and even if I built a war chest by selling off part of my collection I don't think I'd be comfortable putting so much into one funny book.

Ok, here's my current (and second copy I've ever owned) copy. There's a story behind every book and here it is as I was told:
Mary was given 3 comics. She stored them at her parents house. She just discovered that one of the 3 comics was an original Batman #1 from 1940...Mary was a young (20 yrs?) lady traveling in Alaska. A male aquaintance asked her if she liked magazines. She said yes and he gave her 3 comic books. Batman # 1, Fight Comics #5 and Jumbo Comics #15 (all around same time period). Mary took back home to Washington state and stored them away. When going through her parents estate 40 years later she rediscovered the comics. After CGC and stopping briefly through two dealers, I acquired the book
Wonderful unrestored copy Ben!
and a good story too!

Okay, folks...
I just won the pretty thing I was enamored with.
To say I'm super pumped would be an understatement.
Remember last week when I expressed a fondness for a certain early Action cover?...
ACTION COMICS #22 CGC 3.5 (Off-White to White Pages)
Should look really nice with my Superman #2. Starting to look like early Superman will be my primary focus in this Golden Age DC quest.
I have my eye on something in the CC auction ending in a few days.
After that, I'll probably slow down over the holidays so the wife doesn't hit me over the head with
a baseball bat in my sleep.
Wonderful book. Congrats! I think it's one of the best early Supes covers.

Here's a better pic of the amateur color touch:
What do you guys think? Yay or nay to restoration removal? Don't know what's left under there and I would obviously take a hit in grade. But I'd rather have a lower blue than a higher PLOD.
I don't think that the spot in the yellow bricks is color touch, looks more like a small stain.Amatuer color touch is fairly easy to spot as the materials used, like felt tip markers, never match very well.I would guess it is probably on a crease, spine stress or small paper lift. Can you post a larger scan?

My collection always feels incomplete when I don't have a copy of this book in it. Was very happy to make a trade with Terry O'Neil today at the Philly show to add this one back in the fold. Low grade, but I love it anyway
Attaboy on this one too! (thumbs u
Always nice to deal with Terry.

Looks great! I didn't realize Hourman is in that book.
Let's see the group shot!
192 pages of DC goodness. Way to go Pons!

Thanks Pons. (thumbs u
