Just got this one today. I've always loved this cover
Congrats! Great book to lock down Steve.I just wish the cover reflected a story inside the book.
-
really slowed down guys...sorry...a few "good" ones to post, though..
gator
Way to go Gator! I love it when you slow down into a MM 40(really tough to locate). If you slow down any more, you might end up with a Fantastic 3.

I was going to post this in the "Confessions of a Crack Addict" thread, but figured Timely geeks would get more utils out of this than just a good ol' fashioned crackhead.
It was an absolute joy going through this book the other night after I freed it from its synthetic coffin to breathe a little. (Sorry Alan, I just couldn't wait.) It was like sipping a nice glass of scotch. Enjoy!:
WOW!! That's a beautiful Chicago copy.Makes me wonder why on earth George ever decided to sell them.

i'm proud of a geek. beautiful book. show us a page or two of check marks, why don't you?
Thanks everyone. Here is a page showing the check marks that identify a Cosmic Aeroplane.

I'm thinking USA 1
Close enough.
It's number 2. (thumbs u
I remembered that Wolverton's Rockman and Jack Frost were in issue 1,and thought(incorrectly)that Wolverton did the art on the 1st issue only.I have never owned a USA 1 or 2,but I do have a small batch that starts at 6.

Since I'm in the neighborhood, and am playing with a new camera... Here's a group shot of my Fantastic run. Doesn't look like a lot maybe, but it took me five years (!) to get this far.
That's an outstanding set of books P5.I especially like issue 4,which is your favorite?
-
yep...made a promise to XL that if I was ever able to upgrade to the Crippin copy of 36, then that cosmic aeroplane copy went to him!...thanks to coolj, I got the crippin, and XL got the CA!....

My Mystic #4 just arrived!! (thumbs u I've been looking for a copy of this Timely book for a while...
GE
A wonderful book!! I believe this to be one of the hardest Timelys to find.
-
I already posted this in the Gerber 7 - and - higher thread.
I have to admit I haven't looked at all 332 pages of this Timely thread yet, so there is probably a better example of this book already up, but just in case....
Forget the Larson,Chicago, and even the Church copy.I absolutely adore this well loved copy. Thanks so much for sharing.Any chance you have any other books from this collection?
You just like it 'cause it's the "Russell" copy
Exactly.Just imagine if there were a Pep 22 with a nice cursive Steve an the front cover!!
-
a few from this month's "haul"...between SD, Chicago and some friends, I am happy to have had a chance to pick these up!
gator
That's a beautiful group of red & yellow books, way to go gator!! When you knock out the rest of the run, you'll have to rent Billy Parkers library loft for a full run group shot.

Nice grouping on short order, Scrooge...
nice indeed scrooge.
remember the doublemint gum commerical from way back?
here are "three runs, three runs, three runs in one!"
just closed two of them in c'town; literally from A to Z.
Wow!! Now that you've removed the Timely blinders, there's no telling what run you might complete next.I just hope it's not something I'm chasing..and on that note, stay away from Zips & Wonderworlds

Here's my newest addition
Way to go Steve, hard to find anything better in the GA than an early Marvel Mystery.
-
hey there Mr. "Cochran"...any Timelys (MMC) for me???
rick
Sorry Rick,I'm holding on to the MM's.If I ever luck into a better #9 I'll be calling ya.
-
Courtesy of Xavier Logan
I'm happy it found a good home.Although next to all those Archie's it may get lonely, so I hope this starts a new Timely run for you to collect.
-
a few more of these; just stuck this over on timely thread, but it's a fit here as well.
Wow Billy... all those color copies turned out great, and I especially like the two in a fortress.Your printer must be out of red & yellow ink though huh?
-
Should I look for an upgrade?
Good lord, does that really say 9.4???

in Golden Age Comic Books
