  1. I have made direct contact with a seller who has lot of the Israeli (Hebrew) Comic reprints. It is really interesting to “read” Hebrew reads Right-to-left. So comic panels had to be rearranged. LMK if you want seller’s email address.
  2. Any recommendations for frames to contain valuable items? I have read some online that you want the back cardboard to be some material and the glass to be UV protection. Any site suggestions?
  3. LOL. That had to be a funny backstory. Usually my hygienist would say “so how’s work and family.” For Bill I wonder if Jolene said “so how are your cats, sprite, or what’s that other one? Hobbsie?”
  4. Do you mean C&H appeared in Hong Kong? Can you share a pic?
  5. @GreatCaesarsGhost Did you get it? I just started my quest of searching for CH gems, so I am browsing all the boards.
  6. If you don’t have this it sounds like it might be gone soon. Stripped film poster created by Bill Watterson. Limited edition. https://sheldonstore.com/products/limited-edition-stripped-poster-hand-numbered the dvd is available too.
  7. when you say comics, do you mean newspaper comic strips or do you mean another type? Israeli comics has CH covers on their reprints magazine. http://isracomics.blogspot.com/2011/11/1992-1995.html i had to google this: עולם הקומיקס: עיתון הקומיקס
  8. I am new here. Is there a place to host images of my collection? sfcityduck , do you have your collection somewhere? (I started a lame google slides for now, LOL)
  9. Those are cool items. I haven’t seen the top set. Where did you find Inks? I haven’t seen those anywhere yet.
  10. I am “COVID coping” with CH, too. The levity and philosophy are refreshing. I found a few lots of dailies for sale and started to reconstruct my own ‘complete collection’ The repeats during BW’s 2 sabbaticals are proving tough to untangle. Still it has been fun to revisit my childhood friends.
  11. Not sure is newspaper comic strips fit in here or not... Calvin and Hobbes Nov 28, 1985. It’s a daily comic that only appeared in some newspapers. Some cities were alerted to the concern and received the alternate “bat barf” strip. Apparently USP was concerned that kids might try to get in the laundry machine and get hurt. The collection and treasury books did not reprint the rare bath version. As a result the bath version only exists in vintage newspapers and only from certain cities that carried CH. Do you know which cities carried C&H at that time? Do you know of any vintage newspaper sellers?
  12. I grew up in NE Ohio. The newspaper was The News Herald. They had a Sunday funnies booklet insert that was ~6x10 inches. I read them each week then trashed them. A lady at church collected them and when she found out I liked comics she brought 6 grocery bags full of them. I kept those stacks for the longest time. Fast forward to this last month, I found a seller who had several partial runs. I bought the full run of 1988 and 1995. My favorite is Calvin and Hobbes.
  13. Thanks. I am glad to be here. I have a lot to learn about where to post.
