Yes. It was CGC'S claim that Clayton Crain who did the cover for that Ultimate Fallout reprint also did the Acetate Cover Overlay, which is why they said they allowed it to be attached and considered it to be acceptable as a Blue Label Universal grade.

K, thought I read that in here. Thx.

Well eBay has started blocking listing of this bootleg book as being COUNTERFEIT. The gentleman that bought a CGC 9.8 from Black Flag has posted on IG that eBay removed his listing for policy violation. Ouch.

    Whoa, really?

That is very interesting. Wheels are turning?!?

We'll have to agree to disagree. Considering CGC's response to our criticism, I think that this will be the last straw for many, many more people.

That would be a step in the right direction.

That's really a baseless assumption on your part.

To each their own right? I really don't think people will stop using CGC in such a way that it will put fear in CGC's heart.
IMO, time will pass and folks will keep using CGC.

Also false. I'm not going to be submitting through my LCS - or buying their products on the aftermarket - again until they do the right thing; Admit they're wrong and not do it again.

My context is related to the bottom line. This issue will not generate enough disdain for CGC that enough people will stop using them and affect change.

Sure, folks like you and me will either stop grading entirely or temporarily but when talking about a business as large as CGC, it takes more than 1 fiscal quarter in the red to see real changes that folks on here are chatting about. What "could" very well happen is that if Twitter, CGC forums, IG, TikTok, youtube, (insert other social media or internet apparatus) all catch fire with this issue that it is just too much to ignore the public outcry. That "could" happen and also what "could" happen is that someone on CGC end has a change of heart and actually does address this issue publicly in greater detail. At the end of the day, in my humble opinion that just might be incorrect but will share anyway, I think most folks just want transparency from CGC so that they can make a better decision to continue to do business with them or not.

I had this happen about a month ago, which was rather shocking going 5/5 on any book.

I've gotten 9.9s back here and there but whoever graded these must have been having a great day because they also sent back my only 10 to date.

One of the better covers to get this awesome grade on. Congrats!

The updates will provide greater access and transparency to collectors.

Certified Guaranty Company® (CGC®) is excited to announce that QR codes will now be included on its certification labels for comic books and magazines, and Grader Notes are now available to all for free. Collectors and dealers can use the QR code or go to CGCcomics.com/certlookup to enter a collectible’s certification number and access not only Grader Notes but also grade date, art comments, number graded in the CGC Census and more.

Quickly look up collectibles on your phone

With the addition of a QR code on the CGC certification label, collectors can quickly look up a collectible and its pertinent information on the CGC website. Simply scan the QR code with your phone and be taken straight to the collectible’s description. It’s never been easier to verify that a CGC holder is genuine and has not been altered. When transacting online, this is essential knowledge that is now at your fingertips.

Access CGC Grader Notes for free

When CGC graders examine a book, they may enter comments about its condition that describe problems, indicate the quality of interior pages and help explain why a collectible received the grade it did. Some examples of CGC Grader Notes include: Right Center Front Cover Lite Fingerprints; Left Center Back Cover Moderate Erasure Mark; Staple Rusted w/Rust Stained Interior. For more information about CGC Grader Notes, click here.

Whenever a comic book has Grader Notes, CGC is making them available for free because they are a valuable part of the grading process that provide more information about CGC-certified comic books. Effective immediately, anyone can go to the free Verify CGC Certification tool and enter the CGC certification number for the collectible that you would like to look up. If Grader Notes are available, they will be viewable here.

    Submit collectibles to CGC!

CGC is glad to provide collectors with greater access and transparency into the certification process. For direct submission privileges to CGC, join at the Associate, Premium or Elite membership level and receive other great benefits like 10% off at the CCG Store and a free CGC Shipping Kit Voucher if you are a new member. CGC also recently expanded its $150 Premium and Elite membership credit to include all services and fees. There’s much more to come as CGC continues to optimize its services!

So I went to look up some books on the CGC site to check notes, based on your information but ran into an error when checking books. It says I reached a limit and need to come back later.

If I am at a show and want to check cert numbers before I buy high-value books and run into this, that's an issue.

Are you planning on removing that limit? Can I get more information on how many certs per day I can search on your site or via the QR code?

Exact wording is "Your search activity has exceeded our limits. These limits help to protect the security of our database. Please try again later."

  8. Another is House of Slaughter #1

I have well over 40 9.8 slabs, mostly variants.
It was my 1st go-round at pressing and sending to CGC = man, it hurts to see these recent sale prices.
Maybe when SIKTC gets beyond the "optioned" phase things will heat up for HoS. Can't wait to sell these, lol

I can't even begin to tell you how many busts I have. I'm sure my batting average is like a pitcher going up against Shoei Ohtani.

So far my biggest win was Aphra. I mostly collect action figures, a lot of Star Wars. Back in 2017, somehow I heard there was going to be a new character in the Vader series. I wasn't even collecting comics at the time as I focused on toys. I probably didn't collect comics for 20 years up to that point. I went around to all the stores in my area and bought everything I could. Ended up with 40 cover A and 3 variants (I live in a small area). Haven't sold any yet, as I still beleive this book has a lot of room to grow.

This is awesome. I hope you make a killing!

    Did you grade them all?

Basically every time I go to the chatroom on my PC there's no button saying, "Start new topic" where there was before. It tells me to sign in, but when I do that it takes me away from the chat board and back to the main site. But when I go back to the chat board it's like I'm signed out again and can't start a new topic. I'm only able to do this with my phone.

Sign out of the site, clear cookies, close all browsers, relaunch site and log in.

Happened to me the other day and drove me nuts for a few seconds.

I bought a package from an online store that was 480 copies of the FCBD Blade’s Daughter and the 1:1000 Momoko Variant for $299.  Unfortunately about half of the 480 seem to have a printer’s crease.  I’m not sure that is something that could be pressed out.  But I’ll be watching this one with you!

    There you go!
sorry they have that issue but a good presser can let you know if it can be pressed out but you and I are far from grading those right now. Lol.
