  1. Wow, Lorraine in customer service is amazing. She tracked my 2/12 sub down and was able to give me a rundown.

    Received: 2/12

    Opened: 2/15

    Graded: 6/30

    Slabbed: 9/30

    QC: 10/1

Shipped: sometime in the next week

She said all this info is available to cs personnel. I don't know why over the last 3 months nobody else at CGC would tell me this. All I was told was that my sub was in the slab room. She also said it should not have taken this long. If anyone had relayed this info to me our interactions would have been less contentious. When your cards sit in gei for 4 months with no explanation or communication it is frustrating to say the least. The best news is my cards are finally getting shipped.

Anyone else stuck in gei I suggest calling and ask to speak to Lorraine.

I’m sorry to hear that Jim. When was your submission ‘received’? Wondering how many of us are in the February  pot (Bulk feb 16 here, quality control for months).

My sub was received Feb 12th. It went to gei sometime in June. I can't remember the date of initial gei, but I do have emails back from then checking on status. This process has been a nightmare.

  3. @drewwebslooks like if our subs are lost CGC gets to set the value of our submissions. This is like a bad twilight zone episode. I was really anxious sending my cards to be graded. I now wholeheartedly regret it.

    From CGC's Terms of Use:

"In the event that a Company determines that a collectible is damaged due to negligence or lost while in a Company’s possession, Customer’s sole remedy will be compensation based upon the Company’s good faith determination of the fair market value of the collectible, in light of what the Company believes to be reliable current market information. The amount of the compensation will not necessarily be based upon, but in no event will exceed, Customer’s stated declared value of the collectible set forth in the Submission Form."

  4. @PaulS. I just got an email stating my sub is in the slab room. This is the same thing customer service has been saying for 4 months now.

4 months in the slab room? Something is not right here. Is there nobody that can go to the "slab room" and put eyes on our submissions? I've requested this several times now through customer service.

@drewwebs I'm going to explore what legal options I have. I think my cards are gone as well. People submitted bulk orders when my sub went to g/e/i, and they already have their cards back. I think something went wrong with our subs. Either they got lost or mixed up once they made it to the slab room. I bet they're in an unmarked box and CGC has no clue whose cards they are. I'll happily eat crow, and I would love to be proved wrong.

Economy received 2/12 here.  Posted this several times before, but they went into Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging in June, and they're still there.  My bulk was received the same day, entered Grading/Encapsulation/Imaging the same day, and came back to me in early August.

I've called customer service 5 times, DM'd Paul... everybody I speak to says they "email the team and see what's going on".  I'm sure that's all they can do, and I appreciate it (thanks @PaulS.), but it's beyond the point of absurdity now.  The TAT was 60 working days when I submitted my order, and it's now been more than 150.  Not only did my bulk come back more than a full month ago, but people are getting their bulk orders from May back, and Economy from even after that.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm almost at my wits end here.  I paid extra for economy because those were my favorite 7 cards.  I would have never expected to get worse service for paying more.  Anyways, rant over I guess.

I'm in the same boat. Same received date. I've sent multiple emails and made multiple calls. This makes zero sense. Customer service is not even replying to my emails anymore.

I paid in full when I made my submission. They are holding my cards and money hostage. I cannot understand how a company can operate like this. It's crazy to think that if my raw cards had just been sent back to me with a refund, I could have resubmitted them and they would probably fly through in the same amount of time I've been waiting.

I cannot understand how these big bulk and econ orders that were submitted months after mine are back to their owners. Nobody from CGC will explain this or even offer an apology. In fact the tone in their emails is irritation at even asking for an explanation. Once/if I ever get my cards back I will not be patronizing their business again.

They could have turned this around by admitting fault and explaining what is going on, but instead they chose to keep quiet and basically blame the customers that are giving them business. It's a shame. I just want my cards back.

@PaulS. I know you're doing everything you can,  but can you add me to the list to check on my Feb sub that has been in g/e/i for over 3 months now.. I'd appreciate it as customer service is no longer responding to me.

  6. I just spoke to customer service, and although they were very considerate they were no help at all. Basically, I got told my cards are in g/e/i, and they don't know when they will finalize. They have been in that status for 3 months.

I asked why other bulk/economy submissions that were submitted months after mine are back to their owners, and I could not get a clear answer. I also asked if there was any truth to old submissions being at the old facility and newer submissions being at the newer facility which may explain the why some are stuck in g/e/i, and I was told that is not the case.

So at this point nothing can be done for my 2/11 submission or anyone else's that are stuck in g/e/I. You and I just have to wait until CGC decides to get around to it. No rhyme or reason. May the RNG gods be in your favor.

Welp my 2/11 economy finally went to finalize today!! Woohoo. Only 2 months after I got the bulk back from same order.

Congrats, my 2/12 economy is still g/e/I. Hopefully since yours finally moved mine will too. Right at 3 months g/e/I. After multiple emails and calls nothing has changed. Customer service is indignant and could care less. They still will not give me an answer on why bulk is surpassing other tiers. Why would they? They have my cards and my money.

Well my 2/11 received date economy is still in encapsulation… my 4/2 received economy finalized today.. wth is going on? Almost 2 month difference and it beat my February sub.. and all they say is some copy and paste email response…

I'm in the same boat with the same submission date. Why is bulk getting shipped back to owners before economy? Bulk that was submitted long after our economy submissions. CGC refuses to answer this or even acknowledge it. I keep getting cut and paste emails when I inquire about my sub. I know I'm shouting into an echo chamber, but once I get my submission back I will never use their service again.

To not even address or acknowledge what is going on is infuriating. I'm getting close to 3 months in g/e/i.

I'm 75 years old, and I do not understand why people who hate the service at a business keep frequenting that business. Go someplace else! And please stop complaining. I submitted some cards to another service in March, and decided to forget they (the cards) existed. When I get them back, I get them back, always assuming I live that long! I have to think the ones who are yelling the loudest want their stuff back to sell quickly. OK I have no problem with that, but you knew what you were getting into. As Yogi Berra said; "It's so busy, no one goes there anymore." Not much of a rant, but there you go.:martini:

we're all in the same boat man. i know im not subbing here anymore lol

I used to have the same attitude of just wait and see, but now I am beyond frustrated. No, I don't want my cards back so I can flip them. These are a combination of my own and my son's cards. My problem is I paid for a tiered service. People who paid for a lower tier with more cards in their submission and that submitted them after me already have their cards back. If that's good with you, then great. I don't hate cgc, I am just very disappointed and bewildered by the process. I don't think asking what's going on or holding a company accountable is complaining. I don't need cgc apologists complaining to my post about wanting to know what is going on with my cards. Maybe if CGC's customer service could clear the air and explain why bulk is coming back before economy people would be less frustrated. If I would have known this was going to be the case I could have saved some money by submitting bulk, and I would have my cards back by now. At this point I have no choice but to wait. They have my cards and my money.

  10. I am now at 2 months in G/E/I. I still cannot fathom how bulk orders submitted after my economy are already back to their owners, and I am still stuck in g/e/i hell. Customer service said they are in the slab room, but I don't know what to believe. It's a 46 card order, so I don't think it is that big of an order to warrant taking this long. I'm really over it at this point. I just want my cards back.

wow I'm thinking my cards might be 5s now!

I have another one that I am going to send in eventually, but I thought this one was the better of the 2. Burning Shadows was notorious for it's poor quality. Right out of the pack many cards had either scuffed corners or cutting errors. Ohh well. It's just going in the safe anyways.

Yeah the digital scans are tough to see imperfections, my guess would be the corners aren't "round" enough or that top left nick on the front of the card.

They are grading this card very tough. I was .5 away from a Gem Mint 9.5 because I got a 9 on centering. One of the few times I disagreed with the grade I got on a card with CGC.

Very nice card. Definitely would have been nice to eek out a 9.5.
