  1. Ok, here's an obscure character, reaching all the way back to Mystery Men #1, Lt. Drake!
  2. A favorite of mine and one that was certainly influenced by Captain America, Harvey had Captain Freedom! Here's my rough copy of Speed Comics #27 with an original art page to the Captain Freedom story in that same issue.
  3. It seems to me that there are an awful lot of Captains in the Golden Age, but there are a goodly number of other military ranks in character names too. Post what you have here! Let's see some of the obscure ones!!!
  4. While I DO see them for sale over here, they're not what I would call plentiful by any means. I have acquired several from the UK as well. The shipping is usually pretty costly, and it takes quite a while, but it's worth it to get an elusive issue.
  5. I think the baddie on the cover is losing his hat because of the condition of this copy!!! Hat popping off cover!!!
  6. March 1964 Marvel "The Fangs of the Fox!" to January 1964 Marvel "The Fangs of the Fox!"
  7. There are a few Timely issues that have that kind of overprint. Oscar #3 comes to mind as well. I don't think I own this copy anymore, but you can see the overprint under the "O" in Oscar.
  8. It's SUPER COOL the way each of your copies has a different color month overprint and cover-up block! It's hard to remember, but I think I've seen more of the silver overprint. GREAT books!!!
  9. John Romita splash page to John Romita splash page. RIP
  10. A huge loss to everyone who ever met him and the comic and art world at large. I exchanged greetings with him in San Diego, very briefly, and he was SUCH a nice guy! His impact at Marvel and the entire comics collecting hobby is incalculable!!! Given the unenviable task of replacing Spider-Man's co-creator, he did so with style and grace! He will be missed by most, but his artwork will live on for all!!! RIP Sir.
  11. Some of his earliest signed superhero work. Yeah, I know, it's not Silver Age. Captain America #77, stories 2 & 4.
  12. Another Herb Trimpe signed comic, which apparently was at his last comic signing, as he passed away two days later.
  13. I searched for a thread on this and came up empty. There should be a Signature Series Bronze Age thread, so I'm just gonna start one.
  14. It's a fantastic cover and one which I'm not familiar with, as it came out before I had comics as a kid and it's beyond the main area I collect today. I'm finding more and more that there are some great books throughout the Bronze Age and beyond!
