  1. And last but not least, I just got this back from being graded a few weeks ago. Sorry for the less-than-awesome pic. This is the best Joker cover in my opinion.
  2. Some may scoff at this copy, but I'm very happy to be able to enjoy it for what it is! Detective 36, coverless, missing an outer wrap (the 1st page is an ad page, so only missing The Batman splash).
  3. Another that I was fortunate to acquire! SO happy with this copy!
  4. This is one that I am SO happy to have grabbed!!! Unrestored and presents WELL better than the assigned grade! Those pages sealed the deal for me!
  5. I have very few Detectives in the boxes. I've downsized a LOT and tried to focus on keeping my favorites. This is all I have of Detective #27, which is the most I've ever had!
  6. Got this back from being graded a few weeks ago. Had a tough time getting a decent pic. This is my favorite Joker cover!!!
  7. Just got this back from being graded a few weeks ago! Has some schmutz on the case (visible on Reed's shirt), but I'm happy with the grade. This is the first FF 1 I ever owned and recently got it back after placing it in a friend's collection 20 + years ago.

  9. Thanks! I was surprised at how tough they are to find in nice shape!
  10. I've been picking up some Jumbos recently.
  11. Thanks Chris! One of the things I really like are the differences between the Marvel and La Prensa copies! There are some great house in the Mexican publications that aren't in the Marvel books.
  12. Oh sorry, I misunderstood. Well I'm glad you like them enough to give some props, so thank you for that! I just dig them SO much! It's just another dimension to collecting Silver Age Spider-Man comics for me! It was really easy to put the Marvel Amazing Spider-Man run together, but the La Prensa copies are MUCH tougher to find, especially in nice shape. Thanks again for the props!
  13. Thanks so much! I was hoping someone else would dig these too! Interesting! I'm as rusty as 50 year old playground equipment when it comes to Spanish, so I didn't know that. I have a question for you, if you don't mind: As a primarily Spanish speaking person, do these Mexican publications appeal to you in any way as a collectible?
  14. Ok, another that I bought right after the #2. This book is dated the same month as it's Marvel counterpart. Perhaps even a month or two prior, La Prensa was publishing along side Marvel and keeping pace. In fact, either with or after issue #8, La Prensa went bi-weekly, which facilitated them needing to print stories from other Marvel titles (mostly Ant-Man from TTA or Avengers stories) to fill in the gaps. Spider-Man was THAT popular in Mexico! There are a pair of other copies of this on the census, an 8.0 and a 3.5. The bright yellow masthead adds a unique contrast to the Marvel version of the Lizard's first appearance.
  15. Ok, I want y'all to come along with me on this one. Some of you KNOW that I've been bitten by the La Prensa bug and REALLY enjoy adding those copies to my collection! Well, THIS book floored me, and I just love staring at it! I LOVE how they kept the webby logo from Amazing Spider-Man #1!!! La Prensa looks to have gotten the rights to publish Amazing Spider-Man early on, as this was published the same month Marvel published AS #3. Marvel was still publishing Spidey bi-monthly then, but La Prensa was putting the title out every month, so they caught up quick! These copies aren't "REPRINTS" as some THINK they are. They were the first published issues of Amazing Spider-Man in Mexico and were quickly published congruently with Marvels. I really love this book, paid a lot for it, and I hope some of you enjoy it as much as I do! It's the only graded copy! In fact, it's the only one I recall ever seeing. I'm SURE there are more out there, but don't know of any for sale.
  16. Another smoker recent add. The Spider is my favorite!
  17. Trying to get a house finished and sold has kept me too busy to get on here much, BUT a guy needs to eat lunch, so maybe I can throw a few recent purchases up to show that I'm still alive! Being FROM Minnesota, I'm thrilled to add THIS copy to the boxes!
  18. A semi-recent purchase. I know this isn't for everyone, but SOME might think it's cool.
  19. Sorry pal, but I don't have a copy of that one. FF wasn't as big of a focus when I first started buying the La Prensa copies, PHM was the main focus there. Of course, NOW I'm all over the place! Here's my earliest La Prensa FF.
  20. Yup, it was a big collection that went to Comiclink for auction. A large majority were signed by Stan, but not all of them. I don't know much more about it than that.
