  1. Thanks pal I just dig that they printed them for other countries!!! Also fun for me to see slight and sometimes substantial art variations!!!
  2. I can't remember all of what I've posted here, and it appears I've picked up more that need to be included. JIM 50
  3. Well, it sure is cool that you were able to win some your first-time bidding with them! While prices rise, I find that if you aren't married to a particular grade, say 8.0 and up, that I can still find copies frequently enough to spend my loot. That last 10 will probably be brutal though.
  4. I actually didn't see those books. I didn't look at their auction at all in fact, basically because I hate the bidding structure. If there's something I REALLY want, I'll put up with it, but the 3-minute window thing loses me as a casual bidder. It's just too annoying and frustrating ... and based on those prices, it would appear that I'm not missing any great deals. I hope we can both finish off our sets before things get too out of hand!
  5. And the last comic I was able to win was the #13. Thankfully, this issue has none of the glue that the other two have! It was almost the exact same price as the #3 (although all 3 shipped together, no discounted shipping). Handy issue number sticker on front, in case I get confused. All in all, a fun stack!
  6. This one, like the #3, has glue at the inside front cover but sadly, also has it at the inside back cover. No handy issue number sticker on this one's front cover, but we all know which issue it is. While the #3, with bid price, shipping and tax came in a little below a hundred, this #4 shot up quite a bit higher, costing about $350 with shipping and tax. We all know how crazy this issue is right now, so I'm still feeling pretty fortunate to snag this one for my La Prensa run.
  7. Ok, so I took quite a risk in purchasing some raw books from someone in Peru, with little more than pics of front & back cover and a shot of the indicia of each book. The description was simply: "It's like the pictures" which isn't exactly as helpful as it COULD be, but these books aren't easy to find, so I rolled the dice. They arrived yesterday and all are complete (no page count given or any reference to completeness mentioned), so there was at least some relief there. This one has some glue at the inside front cover and splash page, gluing them together a bit, but once again, I wanted the books, so ya take what ya get. Overall, I'm just happy to have them. Yes, I know ... I'm such a geek.
  8. Thank you so much! I've been working on this area for several years now and have had the fortune of finding some nice copies. They have steadily been going up in price, which pushes most of the books in the 9.something grades out of my comfortable price range. Compared to the hero books, these are absolute BARGAINS, in my opinion anyway.
  9. Thanks Billy Boy! Those books were selling for some strong loot ... managing to grab one was all I could handle.
  10. I LOVE the yellow cover and nearly bought a Signature Series copy of this issue tonight.
