  1. I would say that yours is SUBSTANTIALLY better!!!!
  2. Another issue with thread-friendly content that has a pretty much straight up monster cover. I mean, mostly .... because my copy lost some of its cover over time. It was cheap though, so I gave it a home.
  3. Another hero book with thread-friendly content. Some of these early Ant-Man covers hearken back to the books that came before them in the title. In addition, they have a few stories inside that let you know you're still home.
  4. I was able to grab a book out of C-link last night, so down the rabbit hole I go, as I wasn't planning on building this run until I either finished a few other runs or exhausted all opportunities to fill holes on my want list. I haven't owned a copy of this since the mid 90's. Hello darkness my old friend .....
  5. Fantastic work @bc!!!! I had a feeling you'd have lots of insight on the subject, but I refrained from putting you on the spot by directing it straight to you. I'm not sure if anyone knows, but I'm wondering if the reprinting of these stories has been documented anywhere? I don't have the Marvel Masterworks covering the specific issues in question, although I DO have the first Spider-Man volume and it only reprints the Spider-Man story from AF 15, not the Bell Ringer and the other story. Some of these issues were reprinted in single issue form called Marvel Milestone Editions. I have a copy of the TOS 39 and it DOES reprint the entire original issue, so The Last Rocket and GUNDAR are in there. That's great for the big keys, but I'd be pretty sure that any random JIM or ST issue wouldn't have been reprinted.
  6. A Friday night question for the gang: There is a small, seemingly seldom talked about group of PHM-like stories buried in the back of some of the earliest Marvel Super Hero comics. How does our group here feel about the inclusion of those stories in this thread? Is this the best thread to feature those stories? I personally like looking thru my Strange Tales 101 and seeing the pre-hero back up stories inside! The blending of the old and the new. Thoughts?
  7. Picked this one up earlier today. One I've wanted a nice copy of for a while. So much for self control ....
  8. I have so few World of Fantasy books .... haven't turned focus toward that run yet. Here are the ones I have.
  9. Thanks bc! Yeah, it's getting pretty crazy up in here!
  10. I just looked and yeah, that's cool. I'd buy that lil 3.0!!!
  11. My mistake Jason, I thought you put up the info on the #74. I still need a #75.
  12. Got absolutely shellacked on C-Link last night, SO ... as a consolation prize and since it was on my watch list and had some recent attention drawn to it, I grabbed this one! Not an easy book to find in nice shape!!!
  13. Nicely done!!! I considered it, but didn't end up bidding. Great score!!
  14. Thanks! It's lower mid grade, I'll say 3.5. Might be nicer. It has great colors and nicer pages.
  15. Thanks bc! This particular 2 store chain are VERY active buyers, so swinging in every month or so usually produces a few goodies for the box! They also have my cell number for Golden Age and bigger ticket Silver, which HAS yielded me a few Marvel Keys and such. This book, for example, I wasn't called about.
  16. Internet schminternet ... I recently purchased this at a local shop and am so happy to have found it!!!
  17. I should clarity that of COURSE I've seen the 6.5 with Stan's signature on eBay but I have his signature on many other books already and the presence of it on that book doesn't increase it's value over 3 grand in my opinion.
  18. I just picked THIS up, as I haven't been able to find a nicer copy for sale. I'm sure that I can find a home for this one if I upgrade. In fact, I already know who's gonna want it!
  19. GREAT copies Lou!!! Your TTA set is looking sharp!!!
