  1. Sweet!!!! It's a Centaur too, one of Jon's favorite collecting focal points!!! Well done!!!! . .
  2. Nice! It's weird how in the ad that they used the drawing just as it was on the Tip Top #22 and on the Lil' Abner cover they reversed it.
  3. Good eye Marty!!! I didn't know that the cover was recycled and used again!
  4. Love that Torch #2!!!! It's the first published appearance of Captain America!!!
  5. I had no frame of reference as to what artists charge for such things, but I thought it was a VERY fair price for all of the work he put into them! I only had the eleven hundred at the time or I would've commissioned the third issue as well. I'm not sure how many recreations he did, but I think I still have his agents contact info somewhere. Maybe he kept some kind of record of that. That's how it was done, you went thru his agent, while Ken was then freed up to focus on the artwork. I'm so happy to have the two that I got! I had considered having him do the only Marvel Mystery cover that he did (issue #86), but as I said, time and money were in short supply.
  6. Agreed! Some may think it too much loot to pay, but as I recall, they were $550 each. My only regret was not having him do a Namora #3 for me before he stopped doing recreations. It's an extra special thing for me in that Namora #1 was my first ever Golden Age comic! I still have it and it's the 4.5 pictured above. Being able to have the original cover artist do a recreation for me was pretty much a dream come true!!!
