  1. I'm glad to hear that you've still got a lot of comics to enjoy!!! Once it's in your blood like it is with SO many of us, it'd be hard to go from an enormous collection down to having none! Forgive my curiosity, but when you mentioned Harvey, I immediately wondered if that meant a run of Speed Comics by chance. Do you have some of those? Those would be cool to see!
  2. GREAT one Marty!!! This is my favorite Penguin cover by a long stretch!!! A real nice looking 4.5 you've got here!!!
  3. A proper leg-dive would've shown better technique.
  4. I've gotten a LOT of great Golden and Silver Age from ComicLink over the years! I'm not much of a Bronze or Copper Age collector, but I've gotten some Bronze from them as well. On average, prices there seem more favorable than the other major auction houses, by my experiences.
  5. From the first time I ever saw one of these "late" More Funs, I thought they were kinda cool! They've got a fun quality about them! Tougher to find and expensive when you do, I don't currently own any.
  6. Key Quality comic to key Fox comic (Fantastic #3).
  7. Tip Top #89 Iron Vic splash page by Bernard Dibble and how it appears in the comic.
  8. Jungle Comics #22 Henry Kiefer Wambi the Jungle Boy splash page and how it appears in the comic.
  9. LOVE that earlier Stan signature!!! His autograph looked MUCH nicer pre-2010!!!
  10. Marvel Stories Nov 1940, on the stands with Marvel Mystery #13 (among others, I don't have the info on hand). When previously discussed, I'm not sure if any notice was given to which artists are responsible for this issues interior artwork. It IS listed in the table of contents! That would be (to my knowledge) their only known Golden Age rendering of the Human Torch, if they in fact were responsible for the ad! Interestingly as well, I saw only one other ad for Marvel Mystery in this issue and it is a small one.
  11. Sky Devils Feb 1940, on the stands next to Marvel Mystery #4 and Daring Mystery #2!!! A lot of ads (looks to be 5) in this one, for both comics!
  12. Blue Blaze first cover appearance to Blue Blaze first story page appearance.
  13. I had the opportunity to get some pulps out today and snapped a few pics. Being a huge Timely guy, those are some of the pulps that I have. Dynamic Science Stories #1 Feb 1939. I've always felt an interesting parallel between the Marvel Science Stories - Dynamic Science Stories and the Marvel Mystery - Daring Mystery runs. Marvel Science Stories 1st issue is cover dated Nov 1938, with Dynamic Science Stories first issue being cover dated Feb 1939, 3 months apart and being the first and second venture into the "Science Stories" pulp arena. Then we have Marvel Mystery #1 (Marvel Comics #1, I know, I know) cover dated Oct 1939 and Daring Mystery #1 cover dated Jan 1940, 3 months apart and being the first and second venture into the field of comics! Perhaps I've had too much time on my hands, but I find it an interesting parallel. Anyway, Dynamic Science Stories cover and interior page listing the many titles of the Red Circle pulp line.
  14. I know this issue has also been covered and discussed to some degree but hopefully you'll indulge me a bit in posting my findings.
  15. I know we discussed this a month or so ago but today I had the opportunity to break out some Timely Red Circle pulps and snap some pics. I have earlier and later issues, but there seems to be a sweet spot (1940) for Red Circle pulps to carry advertisements for Timely Comics. Some of this was already posted, so forgive any duplication. Sky Devils Feb 1940, on the stands next to Marvel Mystery #4 and Daring Mystery #2!!! A lot of ads (looks to be 5) in this one, for both comics!
  16. WOW, killer copy with white pages!!! Congratulations!!! Tough book in that grade with those pages!!!
  17. Rabbit magician flipping the -script on magician to Cowgirl flipping the -script on Cowboy by making HIM jump thru hoops ... er ... ropes.
  18. Um ... there's a "chance" I may have been unclear on your level of preparedness in regard to that particular matter ...
  19. Ok, well since you're here and ready to go, I have another for ya.
