  1. I'm inclined to agree with you on the Strange Worlds, TOS, TTA observation. I may be mistaken, but I believe that Strange Worlds #1 is Kirby's 1st work back at Atlas/Marvel. And yes, it's clearly FF #1 that set the style going forward. Such an interesting time to me. Just a handful of books coming out each month and from what I've seen, pretty hard to find them in high grade. It would make for an interesting sub-set to collect.
  2. I should clarify that I meant more along the lines of, "When do people feel that it elevated beyond just Stan assembling the comics himself?" I have read where Joe Sinnott said that it was about 6 months before he started receiving any art assignments. It's amazing to me that our beloved Marvel was a whisper away from becoming nothing.
  3. It's generally agreed upon that the Atlas implosion happened in Oct 1957. When do people feel that it ended?
  4. And here I figured you two were in negotiations already and he just pulled the thread. Most were beyond my means right now, but some gorgeous Lost Valley & Billy Wright copies. The Instagram link will show ya the story. Crazy beautiful books!!!
  5. Marvel started some reprint titles in the Silver Age, some with redrawn covers, which make them interesting on their own. Post 'em here.
  6. I'm not sure if I posted this here, as I know you dig these!
  7. You were the guy who pulled the fake beard off that mall Santa, weren't you? Just kidding, thanks for cluing me in. I'm still gonna go read it, just not right this minute
  8. Now I may just have to go find which box I put this in and find out exactly WHAT happened!!!
  9. Well that's a fine first image of the HULK to see!!! I can't help but think that it may have played a role in your selection of a board name
  10. Well I'm pretty sure that Stan is to thank for that caption, as this was in the first few months of the Atlas Implosion and he was all alone putting the mags together. Maybe it was a subliminal message to Goodman …. a plea to keep the doors open.
  11. Old scan was cropped weirdly … oh well, it's all I have for now.
