  1. Great books as always! I want this book. Nice choice! Here is the recreation by Simon......jb
  2. Thanks Richard---it was a challenge and a hoot to find the artist, convince the artist to do the cover. Mooney liked doing them and Tuska also, Flessel. I had failures too, like trying to get Eisner to do Wonder Comics 1 (that is a whole different story). I feel lucky enough that I was able to obtain what I did. About 60% or so of my recreations were commissioned directly by myself Here is a link to many of them.... http://comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=5028

  5. Love em both Jack, but this one . The Joker wasn't the only homicidal clown of the golden age. 'The Clown' rocked ! Mooney recreation,,,,
  6. Murphy Anderson did a number of homage pieces to Lou Fine. The quality and detail of these "works of art" can only be appreciated up close. Anderson idolized Fine and these recreations exude that adulation. I obtained this one, MysteryMen 3, Fantastic 3 and Wonderworld 7 The Science was actually the first one he did......jb
  7. Yup it is. How do I know? Asked him .. Just like he did Mystery Men 6..... These are two recreations he did for me......jb
  8. did you have thanksgiving din with him Jeff? I keep in touch with his daughter, LuAnn. ah that's right. From San Diego , many moons ago......I think one of these folks ain't like the other guy....jb
  9. It does make you wonder. 253,766 on average is a crazy high number. Where did all those Weirds go? That number isn't right. By my count there were over 60 Foxes in 1940. I'm hoping to break down the numbers in detail tonight. There are some unusual results at first glance. Here are some placed together.....did not get beyond 1940,, http://www.comicartville.com/foxcovers.htm
  10. Here is an early Plastic Man cover. Drawn by Gill Fox......
  11. That is one big hairy hand. Great book. Not one you want around your throat. Waldo, gone bad. That is why I like this recreation so much.....
