Crazy cool stuff as always Mr. Berk! Glad to see this thread alive and kicking. All the activity on the Timely and Atlas threads have me jealous don't get me wrong I LOVE seeing all those Timely gems, but Its really nice to be able comment AND post sometimes . I thought the MLJ thread hitting 100 pages would start a fire, but.. any way, always fun to see what's going on on these boards! Would you happen to be the owner of the Church Four Favorites 24? I obtained a copy this year. Killer cover. Would love to see the Church copy if it's yours!
No, I do not, but here is my copy.

Great stuff Jon. You were so prescient to pick up those books and recreations when you did.
Thanks Richard---it was a challenge and a hoot to find the artist, convince the artist to do the cover. Mooney liked doing them and Tuska also, Flessel.
I had failures too, like trying to get Eisner to do Wonder Comics 1 (that is a whole different story).
I feel lucky enough that I was able to obtain what I did. About 60% or so of my recreations were commissioned directly by myself
Here is a link to many of them....

If by chance you upgrade, I'd really appreciate a shot at your under copies!! In fact, everyone posting Ace superhero books here can feel free to P.M. me with any copies that they'd like to sell (thumbs u This publisher is kinda my jam right now and I'm having SO much fun investigating these new characters!!! Murphy Anderson did a number of homage pieces to Lou Fine. The quality and detail of these "works of art" can only be appreciated up close. Anderson idolized Fine and these recreations exude that adulation. I obtained this one, MysteryMen 3, Fantastic 3 and Wonderworld 7
The Science was actually the first one he did......jb

did you have thanksgiving din with him Jeff?In case anyone was wondering, I'm very happy to report that Lamont is 87-years-old, slowing down, but still healthy. He spends most of his time reading and enjoying his grandkids.I keep in touch with his daughter, LuAnn.
From San Diego , many moons ago......I think one of these folks ain't like the other guy....jb

253,766 on avg. But I'd like to see the breakdown from May-Jun-Jul where there's a big variance to see if there are any other insights to be gleaned.
It does make you wonder. 253,766 on average is a crazy high number. Where did all those Weirds go?
That number isn't right. By my count there were over 60 Foxes in 1940. I'm hoping to break down the numbers in detail tonight. There are some unusual results at first glance.
Here are some placed together.....did not get beyond 1940,,

Weird Comics #17, August 1941. Another great anti-Nazi cover, still well in advance of Pearl Harbor and America's entry into the war.
While it's hard to know for sure, IMO this is most likely the rarest issue of the run, even beating out #20. With just about all of the other issues I'm aware of at least one copy that was up for sale years ago or is currently in someone's collection, but I've never seen another #17 anywhere. (That said, if you're reading this and you've got one, please post it!) The print runs of all of the Fox titles were dwindling towards the end, making the late 1941/early 1942 issues the hardest to find. Verrry tough book.
that is a "can do"........then again i got it in 1998.........jb

Bravo again, Jon.
Great accomplishment and looking forward to seeing them.
So two "Jon"s have completed the run? "Weird" don't you think? Jon
