JB, there are just no words! What a collection! You NEVER see these books come up. Lucky guyI even forget what I posted.....I drifted to esoteric GA......just some great stuff. My column form CBM was
"The Comicbox" (get it "JBComicbox"?
My first article ever for Gary was on Wow, What a Magazine.
Loved doing articles on these titles.....And the best thing was getting Jim Mooney to recreate his early wonderful covers......jb
So digress to Wow (#2 is first Eisner cover)

The Ray by Lou Fine or Reed Crandall

Abdul the Arab by Bob Powell
Wings Wendall & Chic Carter, both by Vernon Henkel (when he still cared about his work; i.e., put the work into it)

Excellent choice of the Hit 7 with the skull overlay....
Fine is my guy and Mysterymen 3 is the #1 book for me. I know he is shooting a gun (and not doing something "exotic") but look at the lyrical movement brought to the static page........Ready for a "shock", I have never been smitten with the Fantastic 3 or National 7.....runner up would be WW7 (with the "ghoul drool" and Science 2, note that Hit 8 also brings movement to the static page.....and Jumbo 10 which was one of my early Fine covers that made me a fan of his.....jb
