It's McFarlane? That is pretty nifty, not a lot of TMNT McFarlane I suppose.
Nifty for sure - and no holes or tears, rolled up for 30 years...

100% rating on eBay - shop my stuff with confidence - experienced brick and mortar and now virtual store operator.

Currently rocking a lot of slabbed goodness as well as modern books with variant covers.
BUT - I have a lot of books unlisted that ARE FOR SALE: huge Conan run from #1 up, Savage Sword of Conan 1-100, Usagi Yojimbo, Space Usagi, Groo the Wanderer, extensive runs of Elfquest / Epic / Warrior / Love & Rockets magazines. Message me for more details.

Ok, looks like they have a new customer incoming. Do you have a link for pressing and submittal services? I have a few TMNT #1 3rd prints and teens I need pressing and submitted!

Not sure I'm more impressed with the grades or the speed at which you received them! Absolutely amazing! How'd the 2 #3 Laird Variants grade? I'm currently holding a 9.6 looking for a 9.8
The Grades ARE impressive. So is the Walk Through shipping and insurance cost from the #1!
I my #3s are all standard all blue Laird signs....they are on a slow boat at CGC now.

GOOD LUCK on this Auction - I also have a 9.6 that I am committed to sitting on for as long as possible - hoping your result is higher than 55k!

Thanks all for taking a look at this iconic book - curious about then potential bump from a good press and clean.
I appreciate all of your feedback on this book. I plan to have it pressed/cleaned and then sent to CGC for grading and encapsulation - will share grade results here for sure!
Thanks in advance,
David

So......sold one on Ebay for 2700+/- and the major issue seemed to be the Off-white to white designation instead of White Pages. Is $1000 less a realistic dropoff for a 9.8 in off-white vs white?

7.0/7.5 with a C&P
assuming C&P is clean and press, I am definitely considering that option.

Slight rounding/blunting of corners with slight creasing/dimples, Slight edge wear, Slight accumulation of stress lines w/color break, 1"-2" crease upper right corner w/color break.
IMO, the crease is a killer, it affects the aesthetic appeal of the book, other than the crease the book presents nicely.
IMO, the crease prevents this book from being a FN/VF 7.0 - VF- 7.5, but does not display the defects allowed in a FN 6.0, so...
FN+ 6.5.
Thank you for your observations.

You should end the auction and try again. Bidders will be expecting the White pages. May hurt your bottom line bigtime (Returns etc.).
Thanks for your information, there were bids immediately and ebay locks up the posting at that point. I chose to keep the auction active and not incur the penalties . There were LOTS of questions about my stock photo....I probably DID hurt my bottom line (2731 for the record).

UGH - made a mistake on initial heading and ebay won't let me adjust it. It is 9.8 off-white to white. The original photo was a placeholder but it took longer that I thought it would to get the correct photos uploaded.

Too much reading and a lot simpler just to listen to Vinnie's YouTube video that's attached to the bottom of the auction listing here:
$230,555 with ten minutes to go........interesting that their private sale is 250k and the auction is only 230..... -

Well, if it was both pressing and then grading which you had to pay for, then it definitely cost you way more than what the entire print run for the first edition of TMNT 1 would have cost you when the book first came out back in 1984.
Looks like you must live in an affordable part of the country if you can cash this in for a huge house down payment because where I live it would probably be good enough only for a down payment on the down payment for a house.
Vermont.......sort of affordable but the pandemic has seen an out-of-state rush on real estate that has jacked prices waaaaaay up. But everything is in the 200-600k range around here.

Wow oh wowza.......................10 copies of TMNT 1 First Print and all for cover price only!!!
Have you ever considered contacting your friends to see what they ended up doing with their copies of the book?
Just imagine if you still had all 10 copies of this book here, as it could probably buy you a nice place to live or at least serve as down payment on a house depending upon where you live.
What did it end up costing you to grade and slab the book and don't you hate it when the cost of certification is probably pretty much close to equivalent to what the entire print run would have cost you to buy when the book first came out.
The cost was high - walkthrough, pressing, certified mail and insurance.....serious primed to cash it in for a huge house downpayment B-)

The grading would frame it - seems like only concert posters are graded by CGC at this time anyway?
WILL FRAME AND HANG!
