Not worth a penny in the long term if you ask me. If I were you I'd focus on key issues. It will be worth your time and money to buy another copy of issue 19 or 2 than another variant cover. Possibly, but you need to factor in this may potentially become a key issue with the introduction of the new characters and then add a limited variant on top of that. The reason 19 is key is the introduction of a key character. I do believe the current prices are inflated and may slip off. The only reason I bought one from my LCS is that it was $50 and couldn't fathom spending ebay prices. I did consider flipping it, but the completion it in me is keeping it.

I went through about 15 copies at my LCS to find one in NM+, there were just too many spine ticks. My retailer copy had a perfect spine.

He'll be at Heroes next month. Check with a facilitator about getting a commission. As of last month he was charging around $80 for a pencil head sketch and $300 for a full figure w/ color per his blog, but I know he has other options too, such as inked busts.
