Getting closer and closer to sending off my first submission to CGC. I have 57 cards for this submission and It states to place the cards between two pieces of cardboard and secure with rubber bands and that they must be packed in the order for which they are on the submission sheet. However 57 cards is a bit much to place between two pieces of cardboard. Would you guys recommended maybe breaking it up into thirds and doing cards 1 through 20 between two pieces of card board and then 21 through 40 between two other pieces of cardboard? Don't want to make their job harder but want to make sure cards are secure as possible.

    Thanks

57 isn't that thick you can do it, but you can break it up as well.  Just label one stack 1 of 2, the other stack 2 of 2 or something like that.

  2. I entered over 700 cards for 2 subs the weekend after PSA announced their shutdown.  Sent in half of the cards, will send the rest this week.  Glad I didn't have to deal with the computer problem.  I did have to do a sub for CSG the last couple days, there were a few slow down but for the most part it's pretty smooth.  Looks like CGC are dealing with much higher traffic.

I think some folks are missing the focus of my question. My cards are already submitted and have been sitting in received for the past 4 months. In these past 4 months Pokemon cards have significantly fluctuated in value: some surpassing the bulk pricing of $99 raw. My concern is I don't want to get upcharged for these cards since they've been sitting at CGC for 4 months. I would hop

My thinking is the same as yours: I would hope that they wouldn't upcharge and as a result of waiting several more months that they would acknowledge that these were cards that fit within this tier and all is well. I just wanted to see of any other people had any different experiences.

Same thing happens with video gaming grading.  After this happened https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/super-mario-bros-game-breaks-auction-record-sells-660k

Someone who sent in the same game for grading is now owe close $1000 insurance.  Instead of using 660k, the grading company actually called dealers for their buy price of the game, dealer quotes were between 75k to 95k.  So the person had to pay the price as if the game is 75k.

This thread touch on upcharge not exactly what you are asking for, but you can see that the rule enforcement is not entirely straight.

    Here you go. https://blackcardx.com/products/palms-off-gaming-grading-holders

American company that partnered with them and shipping is alot cheaper.

Shipping is cheaper, but the product is more expensive, $45 vs $32.  I did some experiment with the shopping cart, if you buy 3 or more, it's cheaper to buy from Australia.

It's a $6 cheaper if you are buying only 1.

So I made a huge mistake - I sent my walkthrough order in to CGC around the 26th it was just 2 cards so I put it in a small box and overnighted it but the usps person put the box in a bag. My order hasn’t been checked in yet and they def won’t know it’s walkthrough. What should I do?

Call customer service with your tracking number after the package have been delivered and see if they can find it for you.

I received a invoice via email pdf....  do I have to snail mail that paper copy to them in with payment before my cards are graded?

(based on turnaround time for bulk that might not be until August)

I can't find anywhere to pay online

You don't need to do anything, they have your credit card info, I doubt they would do any work without getting paid.  Are you referring the document with title "Statement" or the document with title "Credit Card Acknowledgement"?  You receive "Credit Card Acknowledgement" when your card gets charged with the amount.  And statement for the remaining balance for sub still in the system, subtracting the total on the Credit Card Acknowledgement

Fine dont listen to me. Common sense offends you so Ill stop pointing out the obvious.

It's your opinion but it's not common sense.  Your comment "That seems silly that you care about 700 when your sitting on 5-6 figures worth of cards."  is anything but common sense.  $700 in my scenario buys speed, which I don't need.  That is the same thing as throwing money away, because I gain nothing I want from it.   I read that you flip cards for a living, that's not my scenario.  I agree standard sub works for you and it's a good deal to pay $6 more to cut 4-5 months of waiting time.  I plan to do nothing with my cards.  I haven't paid for cards that aren't being graded.  The wait time actually means more money in my pocket.  5-6 figures while might seem a lot to some folks, my stock portfolio moves that much when I refresh, so at the end of the day if 1200 of 1st edition base set cards are worth nothing 30 years from now and I saw it wrong, so be it.

  8. I don't need it them back.  I am not a pokemon card collector nor a seller, I found a few boxes of 1st edition base set at home while cleaning up last month.  I want to get them graded and leave them for my kids as a way of off the book wealth transfer.  I have to send in about 1200 cards to grade this year, so doesn't hurt to spread out the cost, close to $20k to get them graded.  I have 11 more months to sub 600 more cards so I don't have to renew my membership!  I don't have much of dead money in it, just the couple hundreds I spent on the cards back in 1999, the money I have to spend to buy 1200 card saver 1 to put the cards in to submit is more than double that, the grading cost is the dead money going forward.  Maybe I will sell enough to offset the grading cost, then use the grading cost to write off gain from selling.

  9. People who are spending top dollars on PSA cards likely have a very big collection of PSA cards, if they are likely me, want all the slabs from the same company, they are not going to switch, since PSA cards might not crossover with the same grade, so they are sort of stuck.  They would buy CGC cards to crossover.

Long term, CGC is going to do much better, it's cheaper and better product all around.  For someone who don't have huge slab collection to hang on to and free to go with the best product, of course you want the one that looks better, more consistent, and most importantly something that can standup to other grading service standard.  I don't want my 10 to grade a 9 by another service.  For that reason, I won't buy a PSA 10 card with top $, because I don't know what the grade would be for another service, and that's the whole point of grading to know what quality card you have, not what quality card you have with a subpar grading standard.

March standard submission sent and still not showing also. No need for panic. I changed tactics and sent standard because of the rate people are getting them back. I know ill get these standards before my Jan. Feb. Or March economy submissions.

My economy sub show up yesterday with my WK and EX order.  Considered changing it from economy to standard, but it's 112 cards sub, I don't plan to sell them so no point for me to pay $700+ extra to get them back quicker.

  11. I am kind of conflicted, part of me want WhiningCollectibles' cards to be graded so the shining can stop... but the evil part of me kind of started to enjoy the whining, it kind of growing on me...  and I haven't even been visiting here for that long.

Sorry for the joke but I think it's little funny just want to share!  Hope your cards get graded soon!
